Skype 2.5 For Mac Goes Gold
Well you heard it, Skype 2.5 for Mac is officially out of beta and better than ever with some great new features. Skype has become extremely popular among the tech-savvy out there and is a great service, the best part being that it’s free.
Some of the new features include the ability to send SMS messages (for a fee of course), have automatic birthday notifications sent to your friends, and conduct free 10 person conference calls. You can also get 640×480 video chats, with a little tweaking of course.
Go out a grab Skype 2.5 for Mac. On another note, today is the last day for you to grab unlimited SkypeOut calling to the US and Canada for 1 year at just $14.95 (reg. $29.95). Here on the west coast you have about 5 and a half hours so you better hurry.

You want to be calling somebody with a tonne of bandwidth for 640×480 res. Given the state of broadband in NZ at the moment, Neither Glenn or Myself will be able to do that
Cool blog!
I’m definitely subscribing to the RSS feed.
Thanks WPH! I think you will enjoy what we have in store for the near future!
yeah 640×480 is the way!
I just got 3.1 beta
@Ralph: Is there any cool stuff in the 3.1 beta?
I would love to use Skype much, but I actually have no one to use it with here in Finland. No one would like to hear my crappy pronunciation in english anyway.
Damn, i didn’t know the $15 was for a limited time. Oh well, guess i’ll have to shell out the $30.
I love skype. It seems to have a large RAM overhead, but despite that, it has some great features, especially the group chat and bookmarked chat features.
Here’s to hoping it handles videochat as well as iChat, only better!
Skype is a great app. Now that I have the new version, I want to try and check out video chat. Anyone with comments on its comparison to iChat’s video chat?
Eh. It seems like there’s a new version of Skype every day now.
Andre, that a GOOD THING.
More new stuff, especially when it’s free!
