BUYER BEWARE!!! NO SUPPORT!!! have now sent 20 e-mails... None have produced a reply. I am now trying to get my money back via my credit card company as this is just unacceptable. Once again I feel as if I was ripped off and I will do EVERYTHING I can to ensure this doesn't happen to any one else!
All he has to do is REPLY and assist me in getting this issue fixed....

[...] Cons: Slow, Java, hogs ram, takes up large ammount of screen space. 5. Xtorrent The newest edition to torrent clients on the Mac, Xtorrent is the latest creation from David Watanabe. Known for the eye candy in his apps, David designed Xtorrent around simplicity and elegance, yet loaded it with useful features and time saving options. Xtorrent can search for torrents via any search engine, can subscribe to RSS feeds for torrents, can organize searches and feeds into folders, automatically loads torrents, and can show download speeds in the dock icon. The UI is fantastic, reflecting NewsFire’s and Acquisition’s interface. The only downside to Xtorrent is it’s price, going for $18.99. Check out our brief Xtorrent Review.
@ Indraneel: Strange that you should mention uTorrent, as it's not a Mac app... yet. Some die-hard fans like it so much, they go so far as to emulate it under OS X. I wrote up a how-to post, check it out, if you're interested:

I recently started using the Xtorrent beta again after trying out the first release and uninstalling it. I must say, having been against Xtorrent from the very start, I am considering buying a license and parting with Transmission. It has greatly improved throughout the beta stage.

Man, there are soooo many things going against this app:

1. You have to pay for it.
1b. $19 is way to much for a such a specific app.
1b.b. WHY would you pay for a torrent client when so many out there are free? (see Azureus, TomatoTorrent, Transmission, rTorrent, etc.)
1c. Stretch is right, it's a beta. Who the heck charges for a beta?

2. It might look nice, but many torrent directories hate it. The guys who run OiNK claim it's "the bane of their existance" or something to that effect.

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand the logic behind making people pay for software that will be mostly used to pirate other people's work. This is especially ridiculous considering the app is based on the open source Transmission.

if you're into torrents you should know better!

It's definitely a very well designed and appealing app. And the built-in search functionality is only matched by <a href="http://www.bitrocket.org/" rel="nofollow">BitRocket</a>'s. If you're looking for a beautiful BitTorrent client and don't mind paying some 800rs for it, Xtorrent is definitely the way to go.

To broke students like me, I can only suggest that you try and win a license (ooh! have I said too much?) or check out BitRocket (feature rich) or <a href="http://transmission.m0k.org/" rel="nofollow">Transmission</a>, both free & open source, but sadly, not as sexy as Xtorrent.
