Mmmm, Del.icio.us Pukka
Del.icio.us, we all know and love it. Spawning the ever so popular Digg. Now saving your bookmarks to del.icio.us just got easier with Pukka.
This is probably one of the most simple Mac apps I’ve seen. It serves the full functionality of the del.icio.us bookmarks page, without the hefty loading times of a web page. Just login with your information and start adding your favorite pages.
There are a few things that stand out, the most noticable is you can see older bookmarks from your account. Another little feature is the Pukka bookmarklet, you add the link Pukka gives you to your web browser’s bookmarks. Click it on a certain web page you want to send to del.icio.us, it opens Pukka and fills in everything you need. A few other features include support for multiple logins, use over SSL, warnings on duplicates, and much more.

Pukka is available for $5, but there is a 14 free day trial. If you love del.icio.us, then I would say it’s worth the money.

would love it if it autosuggested tags
wow, thanks for the review! I am a user of pukka and I never knew that I can access the tags via its dock icon! However, I don’t know why every time I right-click the dock icon it will say Application not Responding – which means the tags function as shown above is virtually non-existent to me. Any idea why?
Cool!! I generally use the firefox plug-in because its right where its needed.
@Rennervater: same here when i used del.icio.us. Although i have switched to ma.gnolia. It is more social-centric. Exporting thousands of my bookmarks is “as smooth as butter”. I have to say that what ma.gnolia is lacking is suggested keywords in addition to you own just like del.icio.us when u add new bookmark.
Hi all. Thanks for the kind words about Pukka.
@David: Pukka should autocomplete your tags. Are you seeing any bookmarks or tags in the dock menu?
@Janice: I just added this feature in 1.4. It’s brand new since you started using.
@justin, any chance on working on a stand app for ma.gnolia? i believe they make their api public. anyway, great to see you stop by.
Justin…great app, I bought it a few weeks ago. I would like it to autosuggest popular tags, not complete my already made tags.
The only thing this is missing is having those other suggested tags. Oh yeah! The “popular” tags.
But anyway, great app for a great price.
