Quinn: Tetris Done Right

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Tetris, I pity you. If you do, you will know that Tetris is awesome but old school. Now, I don’t have a problem with old school, but it doesn’t do the awesome power of the Mac justice. Enter Quinn.

Quinn

Quinn is beautiful Tetris for your beautiful Mac. But Quinn not only has style, it has functionality. Quinn allows you to play against your friends over Bonjour, and it does so perfectly (I would show a screenshot, but I don’t have many friends willing to play me).

Quinn allows you to send your scores to an online high score database. This means that you can show your friends your score and compare it to the scores of others (some of whom have made it to over 6,000,000 points). The program is even customizable allowing you to change backgrounds and block images. And Quinn is completely free.

Another great thing about Quinn is that you can make your own blocks and background, or use the many styles already available.
You can also play with friends (or strangers) over the internet.
I did an in depth review of it here:

Tetris Zone is the official Tetris for Mac. I prefer official.

This is an awesome game. Don’t take much thinking and I can play anytime – airport, boring meetings and everywhere else.

This may be the shiniest of the DG Mac apps. Anyway, I’m addicted to Tetris and even if you’ve never heard of it before, you should download this.

Here are the custom backgrounds wphj was talking about:

NOTHING beat tetris on a gameboy… except everything following it

    @ Sun Chiu:

I don’t see how Tetris Zone is the official Mac tetris. Just because it’s an Apple Featured Download doesn’t mean its official in any way. At all.

Apple is just featuring it and is no way official.

Do some research before posting comments.

I absolutely love Tetris and Quinn is a very aesthetically pleasing adaptation of this game.

The only good thing about Quinn is that its free. Tetris Zone is not free but its official. And I only trust official apps.

One more thing…I don’t trust apps that have that Softpedia’s “100% Free” award.

Is there a category for anti-productivity? I have wasted hours playing this.

Oh, so just because the Tetris company made it, it’s the official Tetris?

Sorry, but Tetris is just a fancy name for falling blocks.

    They just copyrighted the name.

who cares official or not. no networking support and shareware. i pass.

Quinn is so incredibly fun. The only feature I could think of to request would be that option in some of the other Tetris games to keep moving blocks once they touch the ground – that threw me off at first.
