Pzizz: Coaching Your Life One Nap at a Time

There are many apps out there that promise to improve your life in one way or another, but it’s certainly not often that an app actually does so by getting inside your head and fundamentally altering your brainwaves. Relax, this isn’t some crazy brainwashing scheme. It’s the “life coaching” app Pzizz.

At its very core, Pzizz helps relax you into a sleep state, and once you’re there, helps you sleep better. This may seem silly, but there is much scientific evidence to support that napping, especially in the middle of the day, can help increase productivity and mood. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of complex science behind Pzizz – neuro-linguistic programming, binaural beats, sleep-state induction, etc. – but the great part is that it’s transparent. Once you find the settings you like, just click a button and Pzizz does its thing. And with all its dozens of sound effects, musical pieces, and vocal suggestions, you’ll literally never hear the same nap twice.

Pzizz user interface

Pzizz currently offers two modules – “Energizer” and “Sleep.” The key difference between these is the amount of sleep you get. The Energizer module will create a refreshing nap that wakes you up after a defined period of time, anywhere from ten minutes to an hour and a half, with a gentle alarm. The Sleep module generates a different soundscape designed to help you drift into a deeper sleep state and stay there for a full night’s sleep, so it doesn’t wake you up.

I’ve been using both Pzizz modules for a few months now, and I have to say, they really have helped me. I’m not an insomniac, but the Sleep module has certainly helped me get to sleep faster and easier, and the morning after using the Sleep module, I wake up more gently. The Energizer naps are great as well, and even when I don’t actually fall asleep, a quick 20- or 30-minute session is a great rest, and I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start on more work.

Sure, Pzizz may seem hokey to some people, but there’s really no reason not to give it a try. There’s a trial here, so check it out – if you like what you get, leave a comment on this post, because thanks to our friend Edward Laing at Brainwave Limited, we’re giving away two Energizer module licenses for Pzizz. If you’re not one of the lucky ones, Pzizz is $29.95 for the Energizer module and $29.95 for the Sleep module, but it’s well worth it.

My friend has pzizz and she let me listen to it and I love it. Too bad I can’t afford to get it right now I’m out of work. I guess I’ll keep borrowing her iPod (which she might kill me for if I take it for to long). But pzizz is great.

This would *seriously* help out my wife, who’s expecting our second baby any day now and is having a difficult time sleeping.

Sounds really cool. My girlfriend would love that for at college. Napping really does increase productivity.

    @Damien

Believe it or not, I’ve actually heard that the sleep module, minus the voice, is really helpful in getting babies to sleep as well, and I can believe it. You should give it a try!

For those of you who are students, Pzizz is offering you a $20.00 discount on each module, bringing down the price to just $9.95. To sweeten the deal more, they also have a student affiliation program meaning for every classmate you refer will give you $5.00 commission for every module they purchase. You can find out more detailed information here: http://www.pzizz.com/registerStudent.asp

Like the author, I have used the sleep module since obtaining it from Edward @ the recent MWSF ’07. It helps to sleep and rest better during those exams/midterms days. I highly recommend it.

Hmm, I’ve read about this app forever, and I have yet to try it. I have real trouble sleeping until I’m so completely exhausted, maybe it’s time to give it a go. Hopefully my wife can deal with this experiment :)

I go to sleep late enough that I fall asleep instantly but this is still a really cool app, even though I’m not sure if it works.

With statements like “neuro-linguistic programming, binaural beats, sleep-state induction”, how could I not give it a try?

Pzizz – The modern way to fall asleep…

Every people need to sleep to regain back their energy after doing so lot of works in a day. Some people can fall asleep easily but some of them can’t get into sleep and need to drink warm milk or maybe counting sheep like you saw in one of Mr Be…

Ok, so I have been with a debt settlement company for about 9 months now. Now I am concerned that it may be better to get out and try to do it on my own. I am not asking for legal advice, but just checking to see if anyone has been in my situation and has some person to person advice for me. I have already paid 750 in fees and they charge me about 80 a month in fees as well.. Not sure what to do as I feel like I am still sinking in debt.

The iPad has been presented this week and alongside its introduction, iOS 4.3 made its appearance and will be shipped with the new iPad. Apple also announced that the iOS 4.3 software update will be available on the same day the new iPad will be on Apple Store tables and shelves: March 11. As you may know, iOS 4.3 will present a number of new features such as iTunes Home Sharing and possibly the most anticipated feature, the Personal Hotspot.

The folks over Tapbots have released an update to their Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch. http://www.itube-stream.de.tl This update adds a couple of useful features. One of these features gives you the ability to add sleep time for its push notifications. This allows you set a block of time to turn off notifications from Twitter so that you can sleep easy and uninterrupted. Another useful feature is the ability to only receive notifications people that you follow. Thirdly, have you ever reported a spammer or blocked someone and had to live with the fact that their tweets were still polluting your timeline? http://www.anysim.net Well fret no mo because once you block

As someone with sleep problems, I found Prizz sleep to be exceptionally good and worth the price, so today I downloaded the Energizer, which appears equally impressive. Does anyone know whether binaural tones come into the sleep mode – I’ve never been awake to find out? I would recommend these Apps to anyone with sleep disorders.
