Giveaway: CSSEdit 2
CSSEdit from MacRabbit is a leader in CSS editing apps, and allows you to design beautiful and innovative stylesheets for the any web project. With it’s intuitive UI, and low price, CSSEdit is perfect for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced web developer.
With CSSEdit, you can instantly preview your stylesheet. You don’t even have to export anything to see it! Like any good editor the program can give you a live in browser preview with the touch of a button. Made a big error and didn’t save? No worries, CSSEdit automatically creates milestones to prevent you from losing any hard work. The editor also helps to weed out design errors with the validation tool and explains what needs to be fixed. To make this easier, the user is presented with an X-Ray of your stylesheet, which highlights all of your divs and other styles in the live preview. The app can also overwrite any external webpage’s stylesheet file so that yours is shown instead, as well as import a stylesheet from any source for direct editing. CSS newbiie? No problem – this editor can help you create styles using its UI, so almost no knowledge of CSS is required to use the app. Tight.
CSSEdit is really easy to use, even for someone like me who knows nothing about CSS! It’s priced to move at $29.95, and is available from the MacRabbit Store.
To win your very own license to this app, just post a simple answer to the following question:
Q: What do you like best about macapper.com? Be nice
Good luck!

Looks like a great app!
I like the design and layout of the site. The topics are nice and, with time, I am sure that the content will expand a bit.
I like its simple writing, some interesting interviews and software comparisons.
macapper.com helps keeping me upto date with the lastest apps, and I love how the layout is easy to navigate.
I love the content of the site. Not only do you have quality but you also have quantity. The articles and reviews are helpful and informative. Also, the design of the site allows for good information flow; it’s easy to read and comprehend. Overall, MacApper is a great site… keep up the good work guys.
I find cool, new stuff on your site. Gracias!
I like the giveaways
The reason that MacApper is in my list of Mac feeds is because the content is original. I am constantly shown apps that are not the same apps that get recycled through most of the mac app sites that just feed off of one another. The site is well designed and all important, the feeds are full article feeds, but you keep my attention because it is not just another Mac site and not just another Mac App site, but a good source for apps that don’t show up on all of the other sites.
macapper.com helps me discover new software-very good reviews!
I love the number of authors. Each author manages to find excellent applications that they truly believe in. Some sites tend to just post applications to fill space, you guys post them because you love the applications. When someone loves the app they’re talking about, it makes sing/purchasing the app so much easier. Keep up the good work!
I like the fact that I write for MacApper. I don’t do it often, but it’s fun!
You blog the things other folk forget to.
I like the information. I’m heading back into the Mac world after a several years of being on a PC, and it’s good to have a place that will catch me up on the current Mac goodness
The posts here aren’t fluff — there aren’t too many that the feed is overflowing, and each one is succinct yet informative.
I really like the variety of writers and I like each of their personal style’s. Their personal style shows in each piece of their writing.
I am a veteran Mac user, and MacApper continues to show me great applications, many of which I fill my needs perfectly, and I haven’t found in my own searching. If it wasn’t for MacApper’s picks, I would still be struggling by with sub-par tools, and be a little more out of touch with the great mac software community.
Wow awesome responses. Appreciate the useful feedback folks
I like all the articles about new apps that I don’t know.
I like how I can find software that I didn’t know exsisted, without wading through all the updates at one of the many macintosh software update websites.
I’m a new Mac user so I visit Macapper quite frequently to see all the useful reviews and comparisons of Mac applications that you guys have on here.
I like the look of MacApper. It isn’t anything revolutionary but the combination of its little icons, the graphics connected with each post and the colors say to me, “Hey look, we have some delightful goodies you will like to read about”.
I have been coming here most every day for the last 2 months and what do you know, another goodie that seems to be even better than all of the other posts that are good to read.
What I like best about Macapper.com is the comprehensive and unbiased reviews of software. You all also review programs out there that most wouldn’t even know about unless they took the time to really search.
I love the resource it is for finding the perfect app to get the job done (and even expanding the horizons for new things to try).
The site is real easy to navigate, and I’ve become a fan of the apps you showcase on here. This is one of the sites I check daily!
The best thing about MacApper (and it’s what keeps me coming back) is the great reviews. I’ve been lucky to find several great apps, with trusted reviews, here and often it’s before any of the other Mac App blogs post about them.
I like MacApper because it looks like a blog that would be written by me. I agree 100% with the applications listed here.
What i like most about this site is the balance of colors. The general aesthetics of the site strike me as very well thought out, both in terms of the use of white space as well as choice of color combinations. Also, I just noticed there are graphics throughout the site, but not so many that they are overbearing. Overall, if I had to describe Macappers’ appearance in one word, it would ‘balanced’.
The reviews are really great here, especially when you give away licenses!
I appreciate the informative and timely review of Mac apps, and particularly appreciate news about Mac freeware and open source applications.
i like that you actually are using the shit that you’re writing about, versus the countless blogs that start reviews with “i haven’t had a chance to fully explore it, but…” yadda yadda…please, don’t ever spin our wheels, just take the time to demo things properly (which you appear to be doing)
Being somewhat new to Mac, it helps me to find Mac equivalent software and other productivity enhancing items. In fact, just today I downloaded and installed the Widget you talked about here http://macapper.com/2007/03/22/keep-up-to-date-with-app-update/.
I love hearing about new applications every day.
I like that it’s simply about apps. The mere fact that a blog exists dedicated to third-party applications for the Mac platform proves that we’ve got tons of quality software available. No matter how many other sources I read, MacApper always has a valuable article for me at some point during the week. Looking at my dock, half the apps wouldn’t be sitting there if not for MacApper. Every time I click refresh in NetNewsWire (which I discovered on MacApper, I might add), I hope that my MacApper feed has another story for me, another fun or useful little app that I can play around with while inevitably avoiding my work (since I’m MANUALLY clicking refresh in my feed reader, this intent should be obvious). Thanks for all the updates so far, see you again soon (whenever my feed reader master tells me to).
The giveaways!
No seriously, I like you because your always posting apps that have made me find new use out of my old G4 Imac, even though I have a much faster pc sitting right next to it with a nicer monitor.
I like MacApper because of the writers involved.
MacApper.com Introduces me to cool aps that I otherwise may have never found. Thanks a lot!
MacApper is a great, with great apps, and great reviews!
what a nice overwhelming response! thanks folks! plesae tell macapper to your friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, moms, pops, *
I like the great reviews, the design, and the giveaways.
-Chris
Blue and Tan make me happy.
Wow….some excellent comments!
I love the design
I love MacApper because they always give their writer a chance to shine!
I love when I get into work in the morning and I open up NetNewsWire and there are new articles coming in on my macapper RSS feed. There is nothing better.
I enjoy the personality of the writers, as well as the content. It’s great to have a website that you really enjoy reading. I enjoy reading detailed posts about mac apps, and that is what makes Macapper different from other mac sites
I like finding out about apps that I don’t know about — as a Mac geek, I often know about *a lot* of apps, but as much as a third of what you guys cover I’ve never heard of, so that’s great.
I like this site because I love to find out about new little toys and great apps for me to try out. The reviews are great, and it’s fun seeing new things put into the mix. I got my iMac this past Chrismas, so I’m still sort of “new” to Macs (This is my first one ever, only used OS X at school before now).
Why I could really use CSSEdit: I’m a web developer, 24/7, whether it’s corporate or personal projects of mine ( A CMS called Lingua at http://www.alexsuraci.net/ , as well as a 1.5 version on Konvulse at http://www.konvulse.com/ , which has a completely new design). I’ve been using CSSEdit (Trial) for Konvulse 1.5, and I’ve been loving it. I won’t be using anything else for CSS, this makes TextMate feel like NotePad. For CSS, anyway.
Thank you for the blog, fellas.
Just a note; that Konvulse website I linked to is in version 1, not 1.5. And another thing, I’m doing this all for free; even if I made money off of this I have no way of paying for CSSEdit because I don’t have a PayPal or a credit card.
Kind of seems like I’m begging, huh.
The simple fact that I get to learn about applications that usually end up saving me time and making my life easier.
I appreciate the helpful articles, especially about applications helpful to MacBook owners. I also like the layout and colorscheme of the site.
I love the “underdog” applications that you guys always seem to find. It’s really nice checking out some of the new or the not so popular developers out there. Sometimes it’s like finding a diamond in the rough I guess you could say.
And lets not forget the giveaways! Those are always great.
I read a lot of other mac software blogs, but macapper consistently has the best reviews on the best, oft hard to find, apps out there. Keep it up.
MacApper is one of those places where I feel right at home. The short, friendly written articles are the main reasons I visit this site on a regular basis.
the thing i like about macapper is i get to read about software that its field is not relevant to me however, after their reviews, i’ll often give them a try and at times it lure me to explore an entire unfamiliar world! macapper hence in a way make my life fuller and more colourful. thanks guys for all the work
I really like the fact that macapper is run by people around the same age as me. It is really inspiring to see others of a similar age do so well.
keep it up
macapper’s RSS feeds make it really easy to keep track of a fast growing library of useful OS X apps… and easier to pick out the best of the litter.
Assuming I win this, winning some amazing shareware. Also great is how you mix in the big name software with the new “indie” software.
I like trying out new things, and I love great recommendations from a trustworthy group of people.
I like MacApper because I’m a spazz for Mac software. What better way to indulge my lickable-GUI lust than by reading review after review? Plus, if i need a review of software, I come here first.
I like MacApper for guiding us Mac users to some of the best softwares available for the Mac platform. It definitely makes it easier for users to find what’s best for them.
I actually do like that macapper offers insightful reviews of really useful apps. Even the ones that i already know about offer unique points of views.
and i like the giveaways…
I like finding about brand new apps here first! The presentation of the site is top notch! And the giveaways
Macapper is sweet because it has helped me put more software on my computer than I ever thought possible!
I’ve got stuff I don’t even want! But I can’t help not adding more. I need help
I use it to discover cool new apps.
Keep up the good work!
I love MacApper because it helps me to discover new software and programs for my Mac, a lot of the times highlighting just what I’m looking for. I’ve found some utilities here that are just perfect for my needs. Its a great feeling to be browsing the articles and stumble upon a solution that fills a certain void, that you otherwise would’ve gone without.
I look forward to each new article in MacApper. It is the best forum to find out about new MAC software.
What do I like about MacApper?
It’s introduced me to some really cool apps, that I’ve ended up buying. The reviews are succinct and full of content, easy to read, and the apps I’ve read about are generally pretty good qualilty. Thanks for doing what you do guys!
Q: What do I like best about macapper.com?
Daily updates! Keep ‘em coming!
I like the un-biased reviews of mac shareware. I have spent over a $100 bucks on Mac shareware, the programs I bought were ones that I never hard of until MacApper, to me that I like about MacApper, even if it puts a hole in my wallet : )
I really like your shoot outs, comparing similar apps. It’s also a big plus that they server for your site it much zippier now.
I like the frequency of updates, the quality of the reviews, and the occasional chance to score some free software.
This is sort of an obvious answer I suppose, but macapper.com makes a lot of great software recommendations. I am always looking for the sweet new applications that will improve my daily computing experience. I think my favorite thing about this site is what this site is all about.
I like that macapper.com is about applications, not general mac news. Too many other app sites quickly stop reviewing apps and start talking about rumors and new hardware releases. I love this place because it picks something and does it well.
Having only recently discovered MacApper, I keep coming back simply because you highlight apps that I’ve found to be very useful, but wouldn’t have known about otherwise.
For instance, iBackup saved my arse just yesterday, and I only knew about it because of your profile on it. So props for that!
OK, I’ve got to get in on this action sense I’m in the middle of building a web app right now.
There are several things about MacApper that I like:
* The regular updates to the content and the focus on applications. I’m not likely to go drop $300 on a the next big must have gadeget. But I’ll drop $30 on an app that I can use from time to time.
* The quality of the reviews
* The fact that many of the authors are so young – while I am in my mid-30s, I am encouraged by the quality of the content and writing of the MacApper crew
* Teddy’s design for the site is pleasing
* The give aways are a great way to keep readership up and make it fun to visit MacApper.
I love the layout, the variety of writing, and the fact that you covered Pukka in your first month
The best feature of CSS Edit 2 is the “preview” like sidebar. if you change a unknown stylesheet its very confusing to do this in a normal editor. with css edit 2 it is so easy to edit the things you want because you see what is going on!
i also like all the other features but this one is the best thing that would make me to use CSS Edit 2. the beautiful interface is also very nice!

i like macapper becauser every day are 2 or more postings. its never boring and i find many interesting apps. i have not much time to search for good apps. and macapper is a way to see every day a nice app that i need or like to demoing. and as Rory say the quality of the reviews is very good!
keep it up!
I moved to Apple for a better and more healthy diet. MacApper is my dessert.
Now I can have a life! Thank you.
I love how you guys are always giving away stuff. That’s sweet!
you guys offer an rss feed that makes my life SO much easier…
I like the way you feature less-known apps. Great layout, too.
Q: What do you like best about macapper.com? Be nice
I like the design. You’ve done a great job with this site, and you post consistantly too. That’s what I like best.
Q: What do you like best about macapper.com? Be nice
Definitely the content. Informative and easily accessible.
I like the value of the postings.
The content on this site is awesome! It appeals to both novices and long time mac users..
macapper is cool because teens write for it. when i get a mac, i hope there’s an opening for me!
I like the way macapper.com highlights some pretty good application that you would not necessarily know about. Keep up the good work.
not the give away matters, but the app that is very good, ive tried it and like very much. powerfull stuff and very usefull, as i work with css every single day
The thing that I like most about macapper is that it fits in
to the mac platform. It looks good, has good reveiws, but most of all it is a place you would expect to go to being a mac user for mac related information. It’s an extension of iLife
It’s a good way to keep up with new and unknown mac apps. Really like the site.
Greetings
Macapper.com helped me start my own business. Thanks Macapper!
What do I like about macapper.com? The simplicity, the surprises and the pure mac goodness of it all. A dose of macapper with my vitamins in the morning is a great way to start the day!
MacApper helps me discover the best apps as a newbie.
To me you guys stand apart from other mac application news sites due to the fact that besides all same news you’re trying to provide a comparison review content, which proved to be really helpful. Keep up good work!:)
The best thing in macapper is to see reviews of mac apps and of course giveaways!
))) great idea to promote applications!
MacApper should be your first source for the best and latest Mac software and commentary (it is definitely mine). Not only does it provide news and information about the Mac community, but also is a resource for finding programs to fit your needs and does so in a clean, user-friendly interface. As it has been stated over and over again, the giveaways are also great incentives to stay engaged in the latest mac software whether through the forum in discussion or continually updating, upgrading and contributing to the Mac software community.
Being a new mac user its hard to find where to go to get great quality applications. But thats not a problem anymore since I found you.
This should be read by users of any level.
What has happened to this giveaway?
It’s been a month, and we’ve seen other giveaways come and go in the meantime.
I’ve emailed the author of this post Ted Winder to update us on his winner, but I have received no response yet. If I don’t hear back from him soon I will honor his ‘giveaway’ by purchasing a license myself. My apologies to the readers.
Hey,
Sorry its been soooooo long – I’ve been away and I kinda forgot about this…sorry!
Anyway, the licences were sent out ages ago to the winners, but I didn’t have their names, which the dev requires – therefor their serials could not be generated. So, I have emailed the two winners asking for their names, and will forward the info on to MacRabbit ASAP!
Hope that made sense!
Sorry about this, I promise it won’t happen again!
Ted
The best legs on the web! Oh, I mean sidebar…
