ForkLift: Dual-Paned File Manager for the Mac

ForkLift I just came across Forklift, a fairly new and innovative file manager for the Mac. Utilizing the latest Cocoa technology and taking advantage of the stable and robust UNIX foundation, it provides an easy to use, yet very effective way to manage your data, your remote servers or your mobile devices.

The dual-pane view saves you the trouble of bloating your desktop with connection windows and file listings, enabling the most effective workflow. ForkLift features copying between local hard drives, iPods, FTP servers, archives, and even mobile phones. The app also has great spotlight integration, as well as the ability to work with archives and smart folders as if they were the original folders. ForkLift even has the ability to view file previews either remotely, or from within archives. After using ForkLift for a few hours I’m quite impressed. It definitely lives up and went beyond my expectations. ForkLift is now in a time-limited beta version, so grab it while you can!

Ahh this will come in handy. Too bad you have to open the app to use it.. would be nice if you could just make a finder window side by side like that.

I downloaded this to use as an FTP client, and it works great, but I cant seem to get it to save the FTP login in the bookmarks. Has anyone else had trouble with this?

It’s a piece of shit. Macintosh don’t need a shitty filecommander like this. Also it’s unstable and look ugly. $29? It’s better to eat a sandwhich and go see a movie! I will use anything else but this! Mr.Kuba

The iPad has been presented this week and alongside its introduction, iOS 4.3 made its appearance and will be shipped with the new iPad. Apple also announced that the iOS 4.3 software update will be available on the same day the new iPad will be on Apple Store tables and shelves: March 11. As you may know, iOS 4.3 will present a number of new features such as iTunes Home Sharing and possibly the most anticipated feature, the Personal Hotspot.

The folks over at Tapbots have released an update to their Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch. http://www.itube-stream.de.tl This update adds a couple of useful features. One of these features gives you the ability to add sleep time for its push notifications. This allows you to set a block of time to turn off notifications from Twitter so that you can sleep easy and uninterrupted. Another useful feature is the ability to only receive notifications from people that you follow. Thirdly, have you ever reported a spammer or blocked someone and had to live with the fact that their tweets were still polluting your timeline? http://www.anysim.net Well fret no mo because once you block or spam someone with this new update, their tweets will be automatically removed.
