Twitterrific 2.0: Public Beta

Twitterrific 2.0 IconAnd now, the moment you've all been waiting for. Introducing Twitterrific 2 Beta! Well, we’re actually waiting for the final release, but the beta is good for now. Twitterrific is the Iconfactory's take on an easy to use tweet submission utility. You may have seen a few of these out there, but nothing compares to this. Twitterrific's user interface is streamlined and beautiful to look at, making the app fun and easy to use. The first version of Twitterrific, like any application, had it's fare share of bugs, most of which have been squashed in small updates. The Iconfactory has now released the beta of Twitterrific 2, a significant update.

Twitterrific 2 can expand and deflate tweets and includes resizable text entry area. A scrollbar and optional dock icon are now included for convenience, and the user can change the new tweet sound. Tweets can be marked as favorites, and Twitterrific also corrects spelling. The app now allows the user to reply to tweets, as well as directly reply to the author of the tweet. Twitteriffic also changes your iChat, Adium, and Skype status to reflect your latest tweet.

You can grab the Beta here (Direct Download Link!). To find out about upcoming Twitter releases, be sure to subscribe to the Twitterrific Twitter page.

You can also grab the MacApper team’s Twitter addresses from our Twitterrific Review.

v2.0 is definitely a step up in the right direction. tons of new features. i m addicted to the cmd+2 & cmd+d methods to reply & send direct message respectively. The collapsed view is a welcome addition and finally t*ffic is made to appear on applications’ list so you can cmd+q to kill it if it goes south. In the former version, you need to go to terminal or activity monitor to do that.

There is another twitterware that just appeared very recently. it’s called tweetbar. it’s a firefox sidebar and has 2 features that others dont: “friend list” and “follower list”. check it out here: http://urltea.com/3p

I’m http://www.twitter.com/mdeleon. I used v1 of Twitterrific and I thoug ht it was cool for viewing my friends recent tweets, but I prefer using quicksilver for my own tweets. In v1, I also was only able to close the app by going into Activity Monitor and stopping the process.

The iPad has been presented this week and alongside its introduction, iOS 4.3 made its appearance and will be shipped with the new iPad. Apple also announced that the iOS 4.3 software update will be available on the same day the new iPad will be on Apple Store tables and shelves: March 11. As you may know, iOS 4.3 will present a number of new features such as iTunes Home Sharing and possibly the most anticipated feature, the Personal Hotspot.

The folks over at Tapbots have released an update to their Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch. http://www.itube-stream.de.tl This update adds a couple of useful features. One of these features gives you the ability to add sleep time for its push notifications. This allows you to set a block of time to turn off notifications from Twitter so that you can sleep easy and uninterrupted. Another useful feature is the ability to only receive notifications from people that you follow. Thirdly, have you ever reported a spammer or blocked someone and had to live with the fact that their tweets were still polluting your timeline? http://www.anysim.net Well fret no mo because once you block or spam someone with this new update, their tweets will be automatically removed.
