I agree…Tiger is fine and I can wait for a better product. The upgrade is just added features on top of a great OS (to me).

Tiger is really ace. To be honest. I know alot of people who won’t generally upgrade, and they will stick with tiger, and I can see why. There’s no reason for everyone to rush to the apple store and shout “give me give me” when you know it’s going to be all buggy.

While I’m glad they’re waiting until they have a solid release, I’m disappointed because I’ve been planning to buy a new iMac since February, but decided to wait for “spring” to get Leopard & iLife ’07 on it. Now I either wait another 6 months, or I shell out an extra $300 to get them later. And now I’m waiting for the rumored iMac refresh, which I’m hoping wasn’t delayed until fall, as well.

I think hardware sales are going to continue to fall for Apple as people sit on their hands and wait. Most people don’t want to buy a product that’s almost instantly outdated. Some of us only replace our computers every 4-5 years, and haven’t jumped on the Intel bandwagon yet. This was supposed to be my year–now, I’m WAITING…

tell me what guys, how many of you, dissapointe ones, have already used all possible features of Tiger? i think none. and so loeapard delay shouldnt be dissapointment. its only the need for newer and newer spftware, whitout thinking you need it or not.

I have to agree. I was disappointed at first. I think I’m just jonesing for another fix of reality distortion. I’m really pretty happy with Tiger but I sure hope when we do get Leopard it has a double portion of the ol’ “RD” built in.

you guys have to realize that the handheld industry is a multi-billion dollars market, which is an uncharted area by apple. It’s simple to deduce that either you ship leopard or iphone first. the choice is clear. You can grab even more new users if you deliver the iphone on time who might eventually flock to buying a mac at the end. leopard get delayed? big deal! we still gonna buy it anyway when it’s released. now, when some windoze users make a big deal of leopard got delayed, tell them that vista was released too soon

Of course I want and need Spaces. Why else do you think i like *nix desktop managers? A lot of them (if not most of the popular ones – GNOME, KDE, Xfce, etc.) have built-in virtual desktops. Virtuedesktops did this, but it’s not in active development.

And their announcement doesn’t suggest more bugfixes for Leopard (though that is most likely the case) — they’re moving developers off of Leopard to the iPhone effort.

I guess I don’t mind that Apple is delaying the shipping. I would rather them ship a polished, completly finished OS than a buggy, rushed OS.
