Major Software Announcement from Panic Crew Monday

PanicSteven Franks of Panic fame has posted an interesting post on his blog reminiscing about 10 years of OS X development. It’s worth reading just for the nostalgia factor but what caught my eye was this tidbit at the end:

‘It is by a more or less random coincidence that on the day after our company’s tenth birthday, we will be conducting by far our biggest, most ambitious new software launch of all time. I hope you’ll come by to check it out, especially if you make web sites.’

W00t. Xhtml editor anyone? If you are a fan of Transmit and Steve’s other great successes you might want to check what’s in the pipe from Panic after the weekend. It seems we are not the only one planning a surprise for Monday.

Hat tip to fellow Norwegian and avid MacApper reader Andreas for spotting this first.

    I am honored :)
Now, if only “making websites” could SOMEHOW… just SOMEHOW be connected to a revival of Audion… whatever it is, I bet it’ll be tightly integrated with Transmit. Like IE in Windows. Only it doesn’t suck, make your Mac crash, or steal your soul.

Haha nice. Here is the rumor I heard:

    CSSedit + Transmit + Textmate

Wish I could say that excited me :/

Ah, the .gif is gone, Eric. Anybody got a mirror? Or I COULD just wait until tomorrow…

Oh, Bruce, when I put the URL and the period in, it thought that the period was part of the URL. Remove the period, and you should get the image.

“10 years of OS X development”.

Really? I was still stuck with 7.5. Maybe they’ll be releasing software that interfaces with their Flux capacitor!

    W00t indeed!

Apple bought Next in February of 1997, so it’s certainly possible for someone to have been developing for MacOS X that long. Granted this is only “technically” since at first it was called Rhapsody, but it was to become MacOS X.
