I just download the videos with Safari’s activity monitor and play them fullscreen in Quicktime.

I use Jiggler for this, just open it with quicksilver and then quit it when I’m done…

yes, you can watch QuickTime in full screen, but sometimes people including me like to see our desktops while doing stuff, since we love our macs too much…:-)

Maybe QuickTime fullscreen has this built in but watching long youtube videos or dailymotion videos? You will want this.

Why not watch fullscreen Quicktime? Doesn’t that prevent sleep?

There are about a million utilities to enable it, mostly just using Applescript:

tell application “Quicktime” to present front movie scale screen

Quicksilver can set it to Cmd-F in Quicktime only.
