Looks really neat. I’m going to try it out tonight and see if i find much usefulness. I can definitely see it being useful if you use a project instead of an actual mac monitor.

I have ‘Remote Buddy’ and ‘Sofa control’ both. At first i liked Remote Buddy, but have now fallen back to Sofa Control. I find the Sofa Control much more intuitive than Remote Buddy. Also Sofa Control lets you write your own scripts. For basic tasks, you don’t even need to know programming. For any application, you can assign keystrokes to buttons on the remote. So you can use virtually any app with Sofa Control (e.g. I programmed the remote to flip flash-cards in iFlash). I would suggest users try both Remote Buddy and Sofa Control and see which suit thems better.

Remote Buddy is quite a useful application, especially for controlling my MacBook from across the room while half-asleep. I’ll take a look at Sofa Control, although I don’t think I’m going to move off of Remote Buddy anytime soon.

pumpkinwhite, I had a look at Sofa Control too and saw quite the opposite of what you are writing. Remote Buddy has a one click interface to adding keystroke actions to any programs and allows adding your own AppleScripts just as easy. Sofa Control on the other hand *requires* you to know Applescript. If you try enter a keypress with Sofa Control, it will only generate applescript for you. Not quite an interface! No params, no editing, nothing. Take a look at Cutsom Actions (I think) when choosing a new mapping for the button in Remote Buddy. Full control there! Even mouse wheel! Guess you just oversaw that - makes all the difference!
