ForkLift Beta 3: Tabs, Bug Fixes and More
There’s a new beta available (version 1.0b3) for ForkLift, the very promising OS X file manager. If you thought $29.95 for the final version was expensive, several new features from today’s beta release will surely sweeten the deal.
First up is the inclusion of Tabs. This allows for added windows, without the added clutter. The tab bar only shows the different partitions right now, but displaying the folder names might be more useful. Still, a very nice feature to have. Thumbs up!

Other new features include spring-loaded folders, an extended FTP connection panel and Amazon S3 support. This beta also features numerous bug fixes, though I’ve never encountered problems even from frequent use. Curiously missing is the plugin architecture, which the team revealed in our recent interview.

According to the BinaryNights team, this will be the last beta version of ForkLift, which means you can expect the real thing sometime soon. We’ll let you know as soon as we receive word on the launch date, but I’m already waiting eagerly with my credit card in hand.
Can’t afford to shell out the $29.95 for ForkLift? On launch day, MacApper will be giving away 10 licenses, thanks to the generous folks at BinaryNights. Till then, you can test drive ForkLift 1.0b3.

Is this like PathFinder at all? I have tried that out, but didn’t like it too much.
It’s sort of like Pathfinder + FTP + AppZapper.
I’m liking the inclusion of tabs in this release.
How do I apply for a free license???
I want a free licence too!!!!!!!
@Conner: This is less cluttered than Pathfinder.
@Jens & Oliver: Details will be coming soon regarding the free licenses. I’m considering a little competition, but I’ll discuss this with the MacApper staff first.
I’d really appreciated if TPTB will grant me a free license
