Install the Adobe tool wil support the reading of PDF files, but we need pay for the registry, If this one is free and good as Adobe, it'll be not a bad choice.

Not sure why this article portrays Skim as a "speedy PDF editor" (except maybe that it's an old article). The Skim website clearly says it's "to help you read and annotate scientific papers in PDF". This might be exactly the app I've been looking for to help me do reviews of academic papers, or at least it's open source, so I could add the features I want. It doesn't really let you edit a PDF though, it's more like somewhat better annotation features than what's in Apple's Preview app.

Even the most basic editing - changing the text in a document - is not possible. What exactly is the purpose of this app?

It's nearly impossible to use. Every time you want to add a line, you have to re-choose the color and type, because it resets every time. You can't select more than one item at once, so if you want to repeat something you did you have to do it one by one by one by one. However, the worst is that there is apparently no way to just write text in the document. It always has a stupid border and an opaque background, so you can't write through it.

Garbage. Is this really the best they can do?
