ForkLift Giveaway Winners

ForkLift IconAs promised, we’ve selected 10 lucky winners for our ForkLift giveaway. It’s taken us slightly longer this time due to minor technical difficulties, but don’t worry, everyone’s data was still intact for the draw.

Congratulations to the 10 winners, and a big thanks to everyone who took part. In case you missed it, participants had to search for the ForkLift icon on eight different blogs starting with one simple clue. Each icon linked to the next one, with the last linking to a secret form to fill out. The response was overwhelming; we had over 400 entries, so expect to see something similar very soon. Without further ado, here are the 10 lucky owners of a new copy of ForkLift.

- Jacob Crowther
- Isaac M.
- Colin McDonald
- Ashley Lin
- Cyril Doussin
- Rob Wittenberg
- Yvonne Thomson
- Ian Heggaton
- Valente.Mac
- Ryan McDaniel

I waited 10 days for a 3 day contest to not win. I think we should all get a copy for your ignorance.

  2. Anon on June 7th, 2007 9:40 am

Speaking of which. The iListen contest, when is that ever going to end?

  3. steve on June 7th, 2007 9:41 am

    damn

  4. Damien on June 7th, 2007 9:49 am

    Congrats everyone.

/me walks off in a huff.

  5. Scott on June 7th, 2007 10:01 am

So this was a random drawing as opposed to giving a license to the first 10 people who fill out the form?

  6. Julien Stockwell on June 7th, 2007 10:09 am

I never win anything, but this was actually a little disappointing. In the end it really doesn’t matter, but the 10 days of anxiety probably could have been avoided.

Well Shucks! Guess I’m about to shell out 30 bucks. Oh well, the app still rocks, and IS worth it.

  8. Jacob Crowther on June 7th, 2007 12:12 pm

Oooo goody i won a copy of a great app! Thanks MacApper.

O, and for all the people ratting on MacApper, think of the odds – 10 people out of about 400 or in other words 1 out of every 40 people won a license.

As for the time delay, i have nothing…

  9. Zettt on June 7th, 2007 5:31 pm

    Me too.

I’m sad that i haven’t won a license but … you know … i doesn’t mean that much. The waiting time was horrible. But who doesn’t like waiting for such a news entry?

  10. Marvin Sum on June 7th, 2007 5:40 pm

Actually, if you guys will check, it took us only 4 days to announce the winners after the 3 day competition. I’m not sure where the “waited for 10 days” came about.

It was really a bunch of factors that slowed us down; a slight database error, plus several staff were away on holiday as well, so communication slowed down somewhat.

Anyways, we have another treasure hunt coming up. Oh, and we’ll make sure no one’s on holiday this time =P

  11. Jordan Golson on June 7th, 2007 9:26 pm

Or, we could like, you know, not give away stuff.

    That’s another alternative.

  12. Bob on June 7th, 2007 10:05 pm

Good idea! Then you would lose half of your readers!! Smart plan.

  13. Julien Stockwell on June 8th, 2007 12:19 am

Not at all. The giving away thing is great. The more the merrier as they say. You just have to make sure that when you do giveaways, you have everyone available slave away at the task and not go “on holiday”.

Like Bob said, you are doing this for your readers!

Way to put your foot in your mouth Anon. It seems to be the trend at this site, which I think is really pathetic considering some of the ages of the people involved with this blog. I mean, bitching because you didn’t win? Grow up.

Don’t listen to the haters guys, I’m not miffed I didn’t win, and immediately did the right thing and actually supported the developers behind ForkLift, instead of wasting time moaning about not winning a free copy.

  15. Anon on June 8th, 2007 11:18 am

Can you explain to me why that is the right thing to do? Why is that right? I like Maseratis, so should I go buy one since I didn’t win the Burger King contest? Is that the right thing? Get your self-rightous head out of your ass and stop trying to qualify what you do to make yourself feel better than other people.

  16. Tremic on June 8th, 2007 11:26 am

I think there is a slight difference between a Maserati a 30$ shareware app, but I’m not sure…

  17. Miles Evans on June 8th, 2007 12:57 pm

No kidding. Some people around here really seem to have an axe to grind, and they almost always use some *cough* anonymous moniker.

Anyways great work on the giveaway Marv, and the other blogs who participated. I know that you did this all under very short notice. Let’s hope the world can forgive you for being 1 day late announcing the winners :/

  18. Julian on June 8th, 2007 6:15 pm

Guys guys !!Chill free licenses with does odds dont matter how long it took and uhhh if you didnt win…..ARRRRRR!!! U kno wat i mean if u want to or hey its just 30 for a great app or still free for Daavy Jones if you know what i mean again….lol

  19. Bruce Anderson on June 9th, 2007 6:47 am

“I like Maseratis, so should I go buy one since I didn’t win the Burger King contest? Is that the right thing?”

Well…um…yes. Why wouldn’t it be? Your example is irrelevant, but yes. If you can afford it and it’s important to you, you SHOULD buy the car. Good grief, do you think that you should win EVERY contest just because you’re you? Your real name isn’t John Kerry by some chance, is it?

And dude? $30 shareware TOTALLY ≠ $70,000 luxury sports car.
