It’s great, but it needs a color wheel icon beside the pipette icon. It’s simple, but ultimately a bit too limiting. It needs a color wheel for the minimal web site makers out there. I’d pay for that addition.

I use DigitalColor Meter all the time (it’s especially useful because I’m red-green color blind) but I like that Pipette makes it a little easier to lock in on a single color and copy the hex code to the clipboard. Yeah, I know you can copy the hex code with DigitalColor Meter using Cmd-Shift-C but it copies it with quotes around the color…

I LOVE Hex Color Picker(being a fairly experienced web developer), it makes my life so much easier. It integrates really tightly into Apple’s color manager, and I can select a color from the color wheel part of the color manager, and then copy the hex code from hex color picker.

Its not really that useful since a more powerful eye-dropper tool is built into OS X. Its called ‘DigitalColor Meter’ (in the utilities folder) and can show colors as hex values as well as most other ways. You can also change the size of the sample aperture.
