I actually wanted something (a) free and (b) simple to do the simple job of reminding me to check the oven (my office is just out of audible range from my kitchen timer). In essence, I wanted the old Alarm Clock desk accessory.

I ended up writing this program several times, and eventually remembered to keep a copy (sometimes food would burn while I was writing my alarm clock app).

The program is called Egg Timer, it's free, and you can get it here: http://loewald.com/eggtimer/
