real player is good when it is working, but i have had problems with it interfering with quicktime settings, so that whenever i use quicktime after having been forced to use realplayer (whilst on the BBC ), neither quicktime or real player will work correctly, unless i spend ages reconfiguring quicktime, and persuading real player that it’s not my default player.

And i suspect it doesn’t work with quicktime 10 or quicktime x , because ever since upgrading to quicktime 10 , both players are very buggy. i now get this error with some quicktime .mov files i recently made that worked well on real player and quicktime 7,

“real player cannot play this file with this version of quicktime” and “quicktime is unable to open this file with this version of quicktime”

No matter how many times I download V 11 on Snow Leopard it fails to install.Guess I will have to continue with version 10 without the downloader

I recently installed Real Player 11 on my Snow Leopard OS X and I have found it to be a ROCK SOLID choice. It was easy to install, has an intuitive interface, is pleasing asthetically and it both downloads and plays videos of youtube and other flv video sharing sites easily and well.

I’ve tried to install Real Player 11 on my Snow Leopard OS X 4 or 5 times and it to this point it has crashed every time during the configuration phase.Not very promising

I actually think the Mac version of Realplayer is considerably better than the Windows version. It looks great and is quite rock solid from what I’m able to determine. There is increasingly less need for Real, but it’s great that there’s a solid player for the Mac that streams realmedia files.

I just downloaded RealPlayer 11 onto my Mac. I’m trying to view some instructional videos. The audio is playing super slow and doesn’t appear to be connected to the video.

Any thoughts?

hvat version of real player wil give me the best quality video and sound windows or mac version hvat version is the strongest

I’ve always had a lot of problems running realplayer on my mac, over a wide variety of different OS versions, I’m forced to install it because the BBC seem rely on it to deliver their content, a bad call on their part I reckon, if it wasn’t for that I’d stay well clear.

I’ve just downloaded version 11 because version 10 was crashing my widgets, but now I’ve just got some strange digital feedback belting out of one speaker… Rubbish!

I use real player for all bbc files.
I dont have to have flip 4 mac or wmedia player on my mac as i found them unreliable when i first tried to use them

The interface is way better, but it’s still slow when resizing the window. Same with version 10. I hope they fix this by the end of the beta period, but that’s not gonna happen.
