Mémoires: The Perfect E-Diary

Memoires LogoDiaries are used by people of all ages to keep track of what they have done in their lives. In this era of technology, everything is becoming digital, so why should your diary be stuck in the stone age? Mémoires is the diary of the new age.

With Mémoires, keeping track of your past is easy. After selecting a date, all one needs to do is push the plus button, and begin writing. After time, all the entries begin to add up.

Mémoires has an instant search feature to help solve the problem of finding what you are looking for. To enhance your journals, you can also add pictures in the entry to show what you are writing about. While this program was mainly made for journals, I use it as a daily planner. There is no limit as to the amount of entries for one date, so no matter how busy you are, this program is great for you.

Mémoires is great, both aesthetically and in terms of functionality. The greatest feature this program has is an encryption option. This new age lock prevents prying eyes from seeing your true feelings to your daily planing. Why not save a couple of trees and purchase this digital diary? It’s just €14 as an introductory price. If you would like to try it out there is a free trial, albeit with a page limit.

Mémoires can be downloaded for you journaling needs. Let’s see a show of hands, how many of you keep diaries? C’mon now, don’t be shy!

This is the only Mac journal for me.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do without any of the unnecessary extras. I love Journler but I don’t need all it’s fancy features.

So my hand is up. I keep a diary.

Mémoires is a great piece of software.

So, for anyone that uses this or others: what are the pluses/minuses of this versus blogging (which you can make private or protected)?

I guess if it’s on your Mac, there’s a lesser chance of getting hacked. If you leave it on the internet, there’s a higher security risk.

also, i would say there is a higher chance of you being able to keep it as you would be in full control. Otherwise there is always the chance that your wordpress (or whatever) database could crash, become corrupted etc.

To me it just seems more of a robust solution.

I don’t keep a blog OR a diary though, so feel free to ignore me :)

Good software, especially in the Mac universe should stand on its own merits . There is no need to ape a 20 something celebrity and add an é to appear French. It is not a french word, and as written would be pronounced ‘ maymories ‘.

Geoff: Thanks for calling my girlfriend a celebrity! :)

Why Mémoires is not a French word? Check out: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mémoires

(I learned French for one year, though I remember nothing… except for this word :) )
