Jade: Easy Image Enhancement
Sometimes when I take a picture, it just doesn’t look right, but at the same time it looks good enough not to touch it up in Photoshop.
Jade, from DataMind, is an application for people who just want to make quick and easy changes. Just click a button and save! That’s all there is to it (well, not quite).
The user interface is very simple, just like the app. The toolbar on top includes back, forward, enhance, and setting buttons. On the right is an area to select a photo with a bar to change the icon size and in the center is the main image that you are currently editing.

To get started using Jade you just drag all the photos you want to change into the Jade window. Then you choose a photo from the selection and push the enhance button. If you don’t like what turns out you can change some filter settings like intensity, sharpness, fill light, color correction, and contrast enhancement. If you like the outcome you just click File-Save As to save the image.
Jade also includes a batch feature, allowing you to enhance many images at once.Currently Jade is in version 1.0 so remember many changes and fixes can be expected. Jade also requires Leopard. You can read more about Jade and purchase it (for $20 now but $40 later).

Except for the batch processing, it appears that this does pretty much the same things you can do in Preview (for free). It wouldn’t be worth $20 to me right now, and definitely not the later price of $40 unless they add a whole bunch of new features, and in that case, it would take away from the quick and easy change aspect, wouldn’t it?
Yes, the $40 price is a bit high. I think for an application like this they should keep it around $20.
