The thing I think would be most useful to add is a tagging system. If i want to tag moods, or cravings, or whatnot. That way I can make smart groups or easily search my own criteria

What i would like to see is a Video Import and Database.
I tried the demo software and it is awesome. Not comparison with others cuisine softwares.
There is a very passionate guy behind this software, who care about it.
Cheers

Great program - Yummy Soup does for recipes what DVDpedia does for DVDs.

Here are the features that I'd like to see:
1. Smarter groups
Smart groups that can take a list of ingredients you currently have and suggest recipes. E.g. I have these 5 ingredients - what desserts can I make?
I think this can be done just with somewhere in the program where you can input what you currently have and then an additional criteria to the smart groups of "Ingredients include only what I currently stock" or "Ingredients include a maximum of 2 ingredients in addition to what I currently stock".

2. A drag and drop scheduler for the week to visually organise all your cooking.

3. A 'grocery shopping assistant'.
Takes either the recipes from the scheduler (in 2) or a group of selected recipes and collates a shopping list.

4. Tagging

5. Australian recipe sites supported (Taste.com.au)

6. A field to relate recipes together as a great couple (e.g. link a mains and dessert together).

Thanks, Phil.

It looks likes its been mentioned here a number of times already, but a recipe/shopping list export would be awesome, so that I can dump it to a mobile device (like a note on an iPod). Better yet would be the ability to sync said list/export with my iPhone.

I can't cook at home if I always forget teh ingredients =)

I second the bookmarklet suggestion above, and I made my own suggestions above.

This app has come a long way in the last year or so. They have added some great things (maybe making good use of the ideas that percolated at MyDreamApp.com's half-baked Cookbook).

This is going to sound silly, but whenever I see their icon I think it belongs to a '90s era app. This program is really useful and the interface is quite nice ... and it deserves an icon that looks more polished to match. Come-on HungrySeacow folks, it is time to dress up your icon to match the great work you've done on the inside.

A very nice looking app.

From looking at the trial I'd like to see a much more seamless method to getting shopping lists onto phones/pdas like the Treo series or especially iphones and ipod touches. Maybe even see if you can tap into a 3rd party program like SplashShopper. I know Splash Software is doing some iphone/itouch development for their SplashID product...it wouldn't surprise me if SplashShopper is also planned.

One possible method to add for shopping lists is to export the list to a webpage easily so that something like an iphone could pull it over the web. A little javascript thrown in might allow for marking things off easily on the list as they are acquired.

I already commented but just thought of another feature I would love. I would love an auto-nutrition calculator similar to MacGourmet but better, of course! I log my food into a nutrition log gyminee.com and this would make everything much much easier!

YummySoup is oh-so visually appealing... and I love the fluid interface. One feature I would like to see (or perhaps I've missed it?) is a field to enter "notes" or a "description/introduction" for new recipes. I've seen this in MacGourmet and have found that it is a nice addition...

YummySoup is oh-so visually appealing… and I love the fluid interface. One feature I would like to see (or perhaps I’ve missed it?) is a field to enter “notes” or a “description/introduction” for new recipes. I’ve seen this in MacGourmet and have found that it is a nice addition…

Not bad, but I have been using shopncook menu because it also has the ability to schedule out a menu of my recipes. So I know what I am going to eat when.

Wow! I am so impressed. Alas, after trying out what I thought to be all of the cooking mac apps out there and finally deciding on and paying for Connoisseur, the LIttle App Factory dropped off the face of the planet and my app stopped working. =( I was devistated and resorted to keeping a complete mess of recipes in text files, pdfs from epicurious, and piles of printouts half-hazardly stuffed into binders. Needless to say, my cooking (which is my favorite thing to do) is a mess. I can't find a recipe when I want it and I have no way of keeping track of all the recipes I want to try but haven't yet. I also love taking photos of my food and I have no way to link my mess of photos in iphoto with my recipes. I'm desperate for a better solution! Please I need a free copy and I will tell all of my foodie friends how great it is! Now for my suggestion, as many people mentioned, a menu planner is essential. Right now, I just use a Numbers template that I fill in weekly, but making out my shopping list from a pile of recipes is error-laden at best. I am constantly miss typing or writing an amount on my shopping list and it's too difficult to figure out the exact amounts I need, especially when multiple recipes call for the same thing. Please save my meals! Thanks!

It would be nice if the application provided for nutritional information (if available) as well as an automatic points calculator for those on the Weight Watchers program.

My girlfriend is a soon-to-be chef and a Windows user. She's not yet found a receipe application that she likes enough. So I think if I won the license I could convice her to make the leap to Mac.

Also the option to automatically convert recipes to metric measurements would be a lifesaver!

Wow, I really like the importing idea in YummySoup, but unfortunately I found it to be a bit glitchy. In the top section of the window, the titles of the recipes I imported overlapped with the photos, and sometimes it wouldn't import the photos at all. Once it even used the photo of a previous recipe I had imported.

What I would like is the ability to search for recipes containing specific ingredients, and to be able to create a list of what ingredients (and how much of each) I have in my kitchen so I know immediately if I can make a certain recipe, and which ingredients will need to be stocked up on soon.

I have recipes in both Italian and English, so it would also be great if the search feature was able to search for the same word in both languages (even if i have to insert the correct English translation myself when I insert the Italian recipes) - for example, if I search for "tomatoes", the results will include all recipes containing "tomatoes" and all recipes containing "pomodori".

Features I would like that have already been mentioned are:
- recipe suggestion
- daily/weekly/monthly meal planner
- exporting recipes as HTML and blog client integration
- the ability to add to the supported sites by showing it where the sections are
- the ability to add and watch videos
