how to remove the icon of MagicMenu

These are the worst screenshots I’ve ever seen.
The background pattern of the menu bar is simply distracting.
There is no explanation of the difference between the 1st and 2nd pictures.
Is MailPlane one of the icons? Which one?
I’ve seen better articles in middle school newsletters. This is an embarrassment to the generally good quality writing on MacApper.

A litle question: it’s possible to remove the Spotlight icon from the menu bar? I use QuickSilver and never use the Spotlight, then this is a useless icon for me
