Hahaha, you really are retarded! At least, what you've been posting here implies that you are a retard. So my assumption would be, you suffer from brain-wise retardation.

I tried to make this clear in your repetitive language, did you perceive the intended meaning of these words?

The arrogant church of Apple.

The time their priests might (maybe) wake up they will find another world around and they don' t have a clue how to come back to this (for them) lower world. They will never (part of being a priest) understand why things have changed, they will go on on their own way because they are to narrow minded in reading, thinking and will never understand the changing world, they are the loss of the new world.

We, the people, feel don't feel sorry for them, they are just talking, writing and have no idea about anything, yes, we will never hear from them again when things have changed, but for now they will carry on keeping the church as it is.
They are the shit of the world and are so f%&^ stupid.

Lunarts - The technology in Macs these days is top of the line.. you will absolutely not get a more advanced computer from Acer than you would from Apple.

When it comes to Apples support, I do think it's beyond great, if your Mac is within the limited warranty (or if you have APP). If not, of course thay could not care less.. but thats just the way it is. You could have it repaired, but not on Apples expence.
If thats what you expect, then maybe you really are retarded. :D Hehe.

I'll have to say that I agree with Jamie's original outburst. For the last year or so, I have been disappointed in Apple several times. And dropping the Macworld show is another disappointment.
Not to mention the change of design on their computers to more PC-like black keyboards. I know most people kind of digg it, but I think it's PC-crap.
The Macbook Pro's design as it was - all steel, was the ultimate design. And it was the look that I loved about Apple, their clean design and lines.
Well, I also think the new trackpad on the laptops is a pain in the a-hole.. I want the button back. Ok, it look better the new way, but it's a nightmare to use on precision tasks.
And, what the F are they thinking dropping FireWire 400 on the Macbook?
Does anybody know, let me know.. cause without that port we've lost the opportunity to target-mode, connecting thousands of external devices and the ability to easily repair/recover data from the computer via another mac.

And by the way, their new In-Ear headphones with Remote and Mic... whats up with it not fully supporting the iPhone? It should have been FOR the iPhone.. and..

But, I still love Apple, their products and the Man himself Mr. Jobs.. and I will probably always do, but they have indeed crapped on their on legs a number of times the last year or so. Annoying.

OS X Rocks arse!

I had the feeling already you are a confused person, never mind, try to read carefully before you answer.
I have been using Mac for over 15 years and had a lot of hardware problems.
All my complaints are about MAC an not PC, I have no clue abnout Microsoft, but you do apparently.

Wake up my friend, I am complaining about mAC (Apple if you like).
AND
In hardware ACER is more advanced these days than Mac.
Again, thank you very much calling me an idiot, look at a mirror please before you tell us all about your past.

I have attended numerous Apple shows in both Boston and NYC, but have never attended the San Francisco shows. II was very disappointed when both shows were dropped. I am just a common Apple enthusiast who attended the shows to see, play, and evaluate the newest hardware and software before buying. The move to just the San Fran show more or less killed this opportunity since I live on the east coast, but there was still some hope that some day I may attend the west coast show. Now it even seems that that option will be taken away. In most cases, I will now have to relay on advertisements and reviews to determine if a piece of hardware and/or software will fit my needs and we all know how misleading this can be.

Joe,

I've got to say, with the huge ecosystem of Mac blogs we've got today any (indie) developer who can't get himself noticed just isn't trying hard enough. Besides, it's the indies who have the least amount of $$$ and getting a booth at Macworld ain't cheap. Better to do some deals with MacUpdate and MacZot and the like and get your product in front of peoples' eyeballs that way.

Sorry, that was meant to read:

"I’ve been working with PCs as a systems engineer for around 10 years so whatever problems you have with APPLE are still there no matter what platform you go to."

Not Acer. Acer was on my mind because they are the crappest PCs on the market. Maybe you should check them out then see how Apple compares.

Lunarts, I was talking about PCs not just Macs so the idiot really is you.

I've been working with PCs as a systems engineer for around 10 years so whatever problems you have with Acer are still there no matter what platform you go to.

If you're having a go at Apple for out of warranty repairs or repairs that aren't covered by a warranty then the idiot has to be you for trying to get something for nothing.

I'm sorry but comments like yours are just trolling and serve no real purpose. You're trying to give the impression that Apple is bad and PCs are good but you'll get just as much grief or more going to PC. But you know what, enjoy your lame arse PC because the Mac world doesn't need ill-informed twats, that's the realm of PC users. I know, I work for them.

@Loweded Wookie:

After 5 serious breakdowns I could not face the sixth one. A 17 months old Macbook Pro broke down on hardware and Apple does not give a shit.
I am a collector of idiots online who are blind and narrow minded about their holy church called Apple. You are in the top ten calling people idiots who have a sincere complaint about an Apple product. Thank you for calling me an idiot and retarded. I hope you will enjoy the downfall of Mac because they are less then middle of the road these days in hardware and support. Your retarded idiot wishes you a merry Christmas and retarded 2009

The point is that many tie the lack of a keynote at MacWorld to the lack of any kind of keynote.
Hopefully, the keynotes will continue, but at special press events. The Apple community will adapt to these circumstances.

I have to agree, however, that forcing these exhibitions to close (Apple Expo & MacWorld) is not good for the "hardcore fans", those who took the time once or twice a year to go to such events.

Now, if only Apple take the time to reflect on pricing and quality, not only on attending such events…

These are some good points. I have never been to a Macworld myself, but as Steve said above, a large portion of Mac community (but certainly not all of it) pays close attention to the happenings at these conventions. So when Apple gives them the finger like they are in this case, it's a sign to everyone watching as well. This is a larger group than just those who visit the show itself.

Also, with regards to Apple holding their own events, the truth of the matter is that they could do a good job in-place of a Macworld show if they wanted to. I just don't feel it'd be as open as Macworld has been, especially to the smaller developers you read about on this site every week. Apple is a dictatorship...a happy one, but a dictatorship all the same. I think though IDG provided issues for Apple, having an independent group holding these kind of events with the mothership support is important to maintaining the caliber of the community.

1st, Lunarts you're an idiot. You think that any other laptop doesn't require a motherboard replacement to repair the DVI port? Hell, the desktops these days require a motherboard replacement to replace the video card so your comment is retarded at best.

As for the show, I agree that MacWorld is pretty much a waste of time. There's nothing there that Apple couldn't do on their own campus so their pull out was foreseeable, especially with the markets as they are.

Kudos to Apple. :-) Who cares if they go to the expo. People are overreacting all over the place about this. It's a business decision, speculating doesn't answer the question "why?" and whinning about it won't change anything. It's like the world's riddled with toddlers who are mad because their parents took away their woobies. Apples is free to show or not show for whatever reason they want... just like any other vendor.

Also, the best chance "Indie Developers" have at getting there app's out there is to develop unique, usable, and beautiful apps that perform what they do with excellence. If a product sucks it doesn't matter how much people promote it. Marry an excellent, innovative product , competitively priced, with creative marketing in the opportunity rich world we live in an "Indie App" will be successful. Develop crap.. don't expect anything in return.

I really can't believe this. Macworld is the best chance that most Indie developers have at getting out there, and Apple is basically leaving. With them gone, a lot of people just won't go, even if they wanted to go. I think that there is a strong community that will always go, but that number will die down.

This has to be (as Jamie said) one of the biggest insults ever by Apple.

In my opinion, Apple is not only letting down those who actually go to the expo, but also all those who follow the show and watch the keynote online.

Also, remember that any of the staff opinions (including Jamie and myself) are not necessarily the opinion of any of the other staffers or our parent company, Escalate Media.

After 15 years of using Mac I am giving up. 5 computers had serious hardware failures and my last Macbook Pro broke down because of bad design (my DVI broke down and the only way to repair was to get a new motherboard for 1150 Euro's). Things are over, Mac is producing terrible hardware in China and selling it as a true American hardware product. The point of buying not reliable hardware which looks nice is over, we are in 2008 and facing a recession. Apple does not care a shit about their supporters, they are looking for new ones to get more money out of them, Apple sucks a lot these days.

I agree with the 3 above get over it. So what if they are not at the show, maybe instead they can keep putting that money and resources into great products and better pricing.

Jamie it's a done deal, as senior editor of a blog that caters to Mac people you should know that hardly any of us ever get to go to those shows, maybe you can justify blowing that kind of cash for a few articles. However, I agree with the guys above and Apple, "see ya Macworld".

"Well, I have some news for you Apple; the people attending Macworld were your base."

Hardly. I don't know any Mac users who've been to ANY Apple trade shows, and I'm good friends with some rabid Apple partisans. I've never been to a Macworld and I've been an Apple user since 1978. Most of the people who go to these shows are journalists, developers and people whose job in some way depends on Apple. Normal folks can't take the time or afford the expense of a trip to Macworld.

The truth is, Apple doesn't *NEED* Macworld anymore. How many Macworlds have we seen lately where we've said, "Is that IT?" afterward? Not one major new product has been released at a Macworld conference recently. The iPhone was announced at one, but that's only because they were trying to get a jump on the FCC announcement. Every product - including the iPod - was announced at an Apple "event", held and sponsored independently of Macworld.

Yes, it's the "end of an era". But the future ahead of us is looking brighter and brighter. I'm looking forward to it a lot more than any expo.

"Now I’m sure Apple has its reasons for the move. The public’s expectations for Macworld keynotes have always been unreasonable (to the detriment of Apple’s stock price). Apple wants greater control over its press cycle."

That is all you need to say. The unrealistic and stupid expectations from lame analysts is exactly why this is getting cancelled. Apple wants its own release schedule for products, not one defined by a show and stupid expectations from analysts. I'll bet you they will also STOP announcing anything at WWDC too and stick to just on-the-fly announcements when *they* are ready.

I am a typical Mac user. I have never paid one ounce of attention to any of the Mac trade shows. I believe you are dramatically over stating their importance.

They are feel good events for the hardcore Mac geek and play no real role in the grand scheme of things.

Why should Apple pay exorbitant amounts of money to appear and market at these events just for you? That money could be better spent on other marketing campaigns in my opinion.

When Apple has something important to say, or show off, I'll check out their website or *gasp* go to an Apple store to see a new product.

Get over yourself, just a bit.
