Fieldrunners 1.2 Announced
Of all the game genres that have found their home on the iPhone, few have stood out as remarkably as tower defense. SubAtomic Studios, the developers behind one of the platforms leading tower defense games Fieldrunners, have just announced their second expansion-style for the award-winning title.
Fieldrunners 1.2 will see the addition of two new weapons and a new map, as well as one new fieldrunner. The flame tower will light up multiple runners at once, while the mortar tower will take out large sections of the game field in one fell swoop. The new map Drylands will, in their words, “provide new challenges even for the most experienced of strategists. With multiple path snaking through the dried out canyon riverbed, the fieldrunners have ample opportunities to escape your grasp.” 1.2 will also see the addition of the P-47 Thunderbolt, a new air-style runner that crosses the field with lightning, as well as an auto-save feature between rounds.
Fieldrunners 1.2 has been announced, but no date has been given for it’s release. Fieldrunners 1.1 is available on the App Store now for $4.99.
