Don't get me wrong, last.fm is nearly flawless, it does everything well. Slacker, however, does most things well and some things much better than just well. I won't write a whole review, but all things being equal, I found that Slacker had quicker performance, higher fidelity sound and even a better recommendation service, despite last.fm's oft discussed musical algorithm based recommendations.
