Haven’t really experienced any of these problems in the latest release, the only thing that seems to ben issue currently is the inability to edit the appearance, which the author has acknowledged and is working on.

Q10 is very cool if you’re on Windows.

There is also a program for Linux called Pyroom ( http://pyroom.org/ ).

For the Mac, Nisus Writer Express has a full screen mode. In addition, it’s a great word processor that can replace clunky Word (for some people). The full screen colors can be adjusted, but it’s a little tricky as you have to drill down in Preferences > Appearance. ( http://www.nisus.com/ )

However, Scrivener is by far my favorite full screen app for the Mac, however, it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re looking for a simple, distraction free word processor. ( http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.html )
