There's a new iPad app out for kids – "The Adventures of Little Jake & Many Skies – All In A Hay's Work", and as part of the launch, they're offering it for FREE until August 15th! You can find it on iTunes if you use the keyword "Little Jake". This family-friendly game challenges players to stack bales of hay as high as they can, without them tipping over. In kid-friendly Free Play mode, players use their sense of timing and hand-eye coordination to follow the target arrow to throw bales of hay and successfully stack those hay bales. As the players progress, the arrow increases in speed, and the stack begins to wobble, for a greater challenge. There’s also a two-player mode that allows players to play with their friends. For older children and adults, the game offers the more challenging ‘Balance Mode’ where the hay bales need to be stacked left and right to maintain the balance of the stack before it topples over, as well as ‘Timed Mode’, where players compete to see how many hay bales can be stacked in 30 seconds. You can see the creator’s long history of experience in the children’s entertainment field, through the strong artwork and audio-visual components of the game, that really helps it stand out amongst its competitors.

Thank you for sharing its a worth while to read.I must say, as significantly as I enjoyed reading what you had to say, I couldn’t help but lose interest after a while. Its as if you had a wonderful grasp around the subject matter, but you forgot to include your readers. Perhaps you should think about this from far more than one angle. Or maybe you shouldn’t generalize so substantially. Its better if you think about what others may have to say instead of just going for a gut reaction to the subject. Think of about adjusting your own thought process and giving others who may read the benefit of the doubt.

We bought an Ipod for our 3 year old. We also travel A LOT. 3hr/6hr/24hr flights… or even just 20 mins waiting in the visa line. It is strictly for him. He has all of his Thomas the Train, games, ABC’s, songs. We often communicate with each other how it functions and where how he can find his music/videos/make his own videos etc. (We also have his bedtime books loaded on it so I don’t have to be lugging around books with me to read to him at night while travelling) —- in fact my 1 year old has a Apple Nano…………… it’s loaded with ALL of her nursery songs…. and she will listen to it quietly with her little headphones and dance around in the airport. — My children speak 4 languages…. so it’s very interactive for them learning each language.

I think what the author is trying to say is that IF A PARENT has an Iphone… these are the apps you should get if you have children (which was what made me decide to get an Ipod Touch for my 3 year old because he was always playing with my friend’s Iphone apps… and I don’t use Apple products).

My children (6,8, and 10) all have them. It was the best investment I ever made. Not only does it provide a way to reach your children but a way for them to reach you if they need to. Also, via the find my iphone app you can know the location of your child at anytime. I’m sorry, but I think it is totally worth the $49 dollars a phone to have peace of mind or the ability to find/recover a lost child. There are too many weirdos and child snatchers out there in this day and age to not be able to locate your child at all times. Not to mention the children’s gps locaters marketed exclusively for that one purpose are roughly $300 a piece plus a $20 a month per child monitoring fee. That is 6 times the cost of the phones and half of the cost of their portion of our family plan for a device that provides way nothing besides the time. I’m sorry but I like my children and don’t want them kidnapped or hurt, or worse dead.

I am in the process of buying an IPad for my 27 mo old! I do not care if anyone thinks I should be “shot in the face”. My child is over 2 and not sitting, talking due to CP and this IPad is for her learning and communication needs. If she could talk I would buy her 10 IPhones if I had to stand on the corner and beg for money!
Apple has made assist technology much more affordable because we were looking at a device that cost 7000 and for the 800.00 I am going to spend for the IPAD this is a steal!
Please do not judge people because they have given their kids things like IPhones because you quite simply do not know the story behind it and to be frank it is NOT any of your concern!

im ten and i just got an iphone4 and none of these games are good fun! try sunstorm interactive baking games their good for girls from 4-12 i promise my friends 4 year old sister loves cupcake maker !!! if your child is anyway creative like me they’ll love love it i promise!!!! these are apps i love : pizza maker,cupcake maker,cake maker,pie maker, donut maker,cookie maker and sundae maker and smurfs village is highly entertaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My twins have been playing with iPhones since they were two and never had a problem with them. While they don’t need an iPhone they do have the iPod Touch which is just as good with out the monthly plan. I’m big into technology and write apps for the iphone so maybe I’m a bit jaded; but I think its the greats device for them.

If you have a toddler check out Grandpa’s Farm on itunes, they like it

Our son is two years old, thanks (but not soley due to his use of my iphone) he now can confidently count to 20 and adds up individual items of up to 5 in number; recognises and names at least eight colours,knows his shapes, including hexagons, diamonds and crescents, And has computer skills, recognises icons, closes and opens applications and can drag and drop (which is more than his grand dad can do), and can sing a number of songs from twinkle twinkle little star to the ABC song
The iphone has fantastic apps for children. Make use of them – and they are cheaper and more accessible than a leapfrog device (assuming you already own an iphone)

We use my iphone as an educational tool rather than as a baby sitter, and I would think abnout getting him an ipod touch when he is three so that we can put educational apps on it solely for him and his sister. We often sit with him as he runs through an app e.g.His Auntie and Grandma (my sister and mother) also have iphones and we regularly update it each other with any new app we find for our children’s edification.

People with or without children please recognise that what we as parents regard as a special toy (e.g. iphone) will one day be quite ordinary to the next generation, Think of computers twenty years ago compared to now and you get the picture…

My Husband and I own a iPhone each and my Kids 8 and 3 got my itouch 2nd gen to share.
I think it’s great- especially in the car! What I like most: Thanks to Doodle buddy, no more wasted paper or broken pens or painted walls!!!! My three year old likes it better than her nintendo xl !! My 8 year old can read her books, solve riddles etc – they love it!

I have no problems, letting my 2 small boys playing games on my iPhone.
Their favorite app ist currently LittleFish. I let them play this game, because it is funny, non-violent, and easy to play. And, it even has a parents level

Btw, I have just found out that LittleFish is the most selling childrens game in the CH-App Store, which makes me proud, having chosen the right thing.

I ask because I would like to let my kids use my iPhone, but there are certain apps I would like to restrict them from using, as I either have sensitive data in them, or don’t want the kids wasting time on them. Now that the iPhone can multi-task, I figured there must be an app for this, I just can’t seem to find one…

Thanks to the Ipone/Ipod touch apps (we have the Ipod touch) our 5 year old autistic daughter is able to comminicate with us and a trip to the store is not painful anymore. With the cost of her special meals, therapies and private school it is great to have access to free apps is great and a big help!

wow. what a handful of very dim people. why would you not want better things for your children? having children learn technology at an early age is just smart common sense and so good for their future. i have a 3 year old and one on the way. the toddler doesn’t have her own phone at all but i have dozens of apps just for her that teach her letters, numbers, how to read and she draws and paints right on the phone too. she draws and paint on paper too but it’s not that convenient on the subway or in the car so the phone is great. she knows how to interact with people. some of the comments on here are just sad. maybe these people want their children to be unemployed or live in barns. great list. doodle buddy is a great app that kids can draw on as well, also free. pac man is a classic that maybe some of these technology deficient people can relate too that kids and adults can play. why would you even look at this list if you didn’t think kids should touch technology. idiots.
