ACTUALLY…. I STILL THINK SOME FEW THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED… LIKE FOR EXAMPLE… THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP A TEXT ONCE YOU HAVE PRESS SEND… AND I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAVE PRESSED SEND WITH OUT MEANING TO….

SO A STOP OR A CANCEL OPTION SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS UPDATE…

Downloaded 3.0 on two iphones.
MMS working flawlessly.
Tethering working flawlessly on both a desktop PC at home, and a Sony Vaio laptop while driving my son to lacrosse. This is an awesome added feature i plan to take advantage of with my 6 Gig data plan.

Great update by Apple. This is the way the iphone should have been released.

jailbreak is different from UNLOCKED that is Ultrasnow…….the Dev-Team said that they would release quickpwn right after apple release the OS and the unlock is due friday to make sure apple does not change anything to the 3G S and see if the Ultrasnow works also with the S

if you install another carrier file thats around the internet you can activate mms and tethering. I did not got the mms to work but at least I got tethering

alright… so I just got off the phone with apple tech support and they said that Internet Tethering and MMS is on the phone, but the features have been turned off by the carrier and will be turned on once AT&T get everything set up.

As far as Voice Connect goes… that’s a 3Gs Feature and will not work on the 3G phone. YAY!

I guess if I want those features I’m gonna have to get the Gold Masters Version.

Im pretty sure apple just released a polished version of 3.0 GM BETA. maybe in a week we’ll have a more complete update? I dont know… I’m talking out of my ass

I didn’t think I was a dumb ass…. but I apparently am not figuring some of this out properly.

So I have now restored my phone, iPhone 3G, to factory settings… and it is setup with a clean copy of 3.0, straight from iTunes.

First off… when I hold the home button down, I can’t get “voice connect” to work. That was one of the features that I was interested in using.

Second, when I go to Setting -> General -> Network there’s nothing there about Internet Tethering. On the website it says that it’s supposed to have an “On/Off” switch there. Still no dice though.

Any help is much appreciated.

I found the activation servers are down, however once the OS 3.0 was installed everything worked fine. I had to wait about 30 minutes until the iphone syned up properly, 2nd phone only took about 10 minutes.

For tethering i downloaded a profile through safari, worked great. When i finally did get the iphone to sync up it downloaded a new profile and that i guess overwrites it and all is still good.

I’m awed by the tethering app, i have multiple laptops and makes working on the road easy. I could have gone with the USB rocket, however with this and a 6 Gig data plan it is all i really require.

i had no such luck… and I usually don’t have any issues… I don’t what happened. And I was sitting here watching it the whole time as I’m in the office working and can’t really go anywhere.

My installation was perfect.

I’ve run the installation on iPhone and I took a 55min walk.
When I came back the installation andfirst run was set.

I think i’m gonna back everything up… which it gonna take 10 freak’n hours…. and then do a complete restore and just start from a fresh copy. then I can send over the apps I use most often anyhow.

it finished with those issues but now I have a few more…

Internet Tethering isn’t showing up in my settings.

Voice Control isn’t working.

The Maps application doesn’t allow me to do the compass thing (tap the blue where am I button and show my direction…. though that could be an iphone 3gS thing only)

that’s all I’ve found so far… but I really wanted those first 2.

but now it’s trying to access the iTunes server again and can’t. I just want all my shit back.
