I know my wife was concerned about this, because she doesn;t like to run across that stuff, and it can be embarassing if you are sitting with friends, or the kinds are looking over your shoulder while you surf or check something out. Good call, Apple!

There have been some rumors going about that Apple has pulled AirPrint from the final release of iOS 4.2. Apparently, a rumor came about yesterday claiming that Apple has axed the feature from the iOS 4.2 final release because of some unforeseen circumstances. Distraught by the speculated exemption of the features, a customer decided to shoot Steve Jobs a letter about it to get a further understanding of the matter. Steve replied saying that AirPrint has not been cut from the final version of the anticipated software update.

Hey, maybe apple should get a clue! They could wipe out Microsoft in a single swoop by ADDING an explicit apps section, apparently .... just think of the sales, and now we'd have people, um, uh, anywhere their iphone/iPad went ...

it would be good if many more companies were proactive about not having explicit content. I guess people now don't understand that being adult does not give you the right to have such content. There are consequences in watching these types of product. If we want to decrease rapes, then we need to get rid of what incite it.

Well, first of all I don't think kid should have an iphone let alone have access to the apps. But if you dont create an adult section what to keep the kids from getting to it through the normal methods. I'd rather they create an adult section and let the users choose whether or not they want access to those. This way those that want it can have it and for parents that dont want it can lock their kids out of it. and prevent them from seeing the explicit materials.

While I would never want a child exposed to adult material, to me, it's just like the internet or tv. It's up to the parent to make sure the child is using the medium appropriately.

Of course Apple has a right to prohibit adult content on their storefront, but the problem is their lack of transparency and communication with developers. There are many "sexy apps" that are still for sale on iTunes, such as the Playboy app, and this hypocrisy will damage Apple's reputation in the developer community.
MiKandi's stance continues to be that the mobile phone belongs to the consumer who owns it and that they should be able to download and purchase the applications that they desire. In fact, we've seen an increase in registrations at developer.mikandi.com as a result of Apple's ban on adult apps.

I have no problem with Apple deleting low-brow booby content. Most of it really was adolescent but nevertheless worrisome to parents. Apple wants the App Store to be a place where kids have unrestricted access. It's their store and their vibe. If people want smut it's available in dump-truck loads everywhere on the internet.

On one hand I am against censorship but on the other I don't want to have to worry about my children getting exposed to unsuitable material. Apple have to apply their brand values and do what reflects them - you would expect them to keep it clean.

It's about time they added a Explicit category. I'm not sure why they've denied adult apps for so long. Apple needs to be more open with their devices.
