Facebook Needs a Checkup
“Is it just me, or has Facebook for the iPhone, Android and…in general, been quite buggy since the updates?” A question that people have been emailing lately explaining their experiences with Facebook for the iPhone and Android apps and the actual Facebook website. Well, just to let you people know, like Michael Jackson says, “You are not alone.” I’ve been experiencing the crashes, hangs, non-loading of content, spontaneous black screens when uploading photos, prompts stating that posts can’t be published because of network reception when I have all my bars (taking another breath), menus sliding up in a totally different orientation than the one you are in, pressing like on a post and it registering for a totally different one, Shake-To-Reload being totally unresponsive, instances where Push Noti doesn’t occur at all and a whole bunch of other things that the devs over at Facebook should take a gander at.
Facebook Joins The HTML5 Movement – Enabling Full Compatibility With iPhone OS’s Safari

Apple and Google may be friends turned competitive rivals, but the two do share many views on certain aspects. One that stands out the most is the new HTML5 standard. Apple and Google believe that HTML5 is the best way for in-depth visual content to be viewed on the Internet. Implementation of the standard will rule out the current technology Flash by Adobe. Along with Apple and Google, which Google is in the process of converting all of their services such as YouTube to HTML5 and Apple’s website completely running on the tech, many other groups have followed the movement and began making the switch. CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN, ESPN, CW Network (formerly UPN), CNET, Flickr, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Nike and Time are just a few of the groups making the switch.
iPhone SDK Beta 2 Reveals More Evidence of Native Video Conferencing.

Given the recent leak of the lost iPhone prototype, it should be pretty obvious that Apple will be debuting a front-facing camera in the next generation iPhone that will be most likely to be introduced at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) Apple hosts every year around June. What adds more fuel to that fire of truth is the recent discovery of prompts and messages designed for video conferencing within the new beta software. Apple has left breadcrumbs of the feature being inducted into the next iPhone in past software releases and the new SDK beta join that collection of software.

Many people want to know what Jailbreaking your iPhone is, and whether or not they should do it. Simply put Jailbreaking allows complete customization; editing the actual coding of the iPhone itself. Apps on the app store do not allow any editing of the actual phone. Jailbreaking does, however, void the warranty of the iPhone.
Google Confirms Their Free Turn-By-Turn Navigation Feature to iPhone…Sort Of.
Google Maps Navigation, the free turn-by-turn navigation feature that was presented on the Android operating system last year on the Motorola Droid, may be making its way to the iPhone core Maps application, which uses Googles Maps technology. It was also confirmed by Google that the feature will be made available on other platforms as well. iPhone CAN Run Android
Well, it has been done. Plenty of people have mentioned that it wasnt possible to run Android on the iPhone. However, David Wong, also known as planetbeing showed off Googles mobile operating system working with one of Apples flagship devices by way of YouTube (how ironic). Initiating the boot procedure with a boot program called OpeniBoot, which is a spin-off of iPhone OSs iBoot. The hack was conducted on the original iPhone (first generation, if you dont know what I mean by original). Wong went on to state that porting the software to the iPhone 3G would be pretty simple, but not forgetting to mention that bringing it to a iPhone 3GS would be difficult. He also stated that the iPhone can even dual boot both operating systems.
Operas Here, and Its…Not…Exactly What We Expected…
Well, if you havent gotten the news flash already, it has been made official. Opera announced that Opera for iPhone was approved for distribution on the App Store. The company told and demonstrated to the masses on its website and YouTube channel how the software is faster at loading web content than Apples Safari.
Opera Mini, with more than 50 million users worldwide, enables fast mobile Web browsing by compressing data by up to 90 percent before sending content to the device, resulting in significantly improved page loading. Users of the app will notice an uptake in speed, especially on slower networks such as the 2G Edge network. Surfing the Web with the Opera Mini App on iPhone and iPod touch will also help users save money because of its data compression capabilities. This will hold especially true while the user is incurring roaming charges.
