Apple Developing “Next Generation” Applications.

A recent job posting on apple.com suggest that the company is developing some new form of applications and are in process of looking for talent to add the their already vast roster of talented techies to join the club. If you are familiar with Apple like we are, they are very secretive about what they conduct in the labs in Cupertino. However, every now and then, they give a tiny inkling into what they are stirring up in the Apple pot.

Apple Releases Mac OS 10.6.4

Apple on Tuesday released Mac OS 10.6.4 the the public after just  seeding the final build to developers yesterday. The update is said to  a address some issues with the operating system including:
“- resolve an issue that causes the keyboard or trackpad to become unresponsive

- resolve an issue that may prevent some Adobe Creative Suite 3
applications from opening

- address issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file
servers

- improve reliability of VPN connections

- resolve a playback issue in DVD Player when using Good Quality
deinterlacing

iMovie Coming to iPhone

Recently at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, a new app had been introduced during Steve Jobs’s keynote speech.  Next to the new iPhone 4 and it’s High Definition camera on the big screen was shown Apple’s pioneer video editing app iMovie.  This is no watered down version.  This is the real deal.

Apple Turns On Game Center For Developers

Apple has flicked the switch to ON for Game Center, allowing developers to log into the Apple-created online gaming network for the first time. Users can sign in and track achievements, compare scores, check ranks and leader boards, match-make and construct parties of other iPhone users to play a game. Apple also provides separate tools for developers to use in aiding them to implement Game Center support inside of the applications.

Google Discontinues Use of Windows Software. Now Only Uses UNIX Machines (Mostly Macs)

There has been plenty of rumors swarming around the Internet that Google will not being using Windows machines any longer on the Googleplex “ for that matter, anywhere where Google is located. The rumors are appearing to be definitely true with the news hitting the press. The Financial Times report that the search titan has barred the use of the Windows operating system due to vulnerabilities in security that arose as a virtual attack on the company was made from China. Google is transiitoning all its employees to either the Mac OS or Linux operating system.
