Apple and AT&T Partner to Help Hearing-Impaired Experience Better With iPhone

Apple and AT&T, along with ZVRS, a developer of video relay software for the hearing and speaking impaired, are teaming up to help make the experience of the iOS more accessible by bringing video relaying software to the iPhone 4. Video relay software allow people who cannot speak, hear, or are hard of hearing to communicate with anyone as the software interprets what they are saying and translates it to the receiver. iZ, the name for their new software, will not be brought to the iPhone 4 with the help of Apple and AT&T.
Developer Leaves Apple, Still Works With Company To Develop SproutCore.

The developer of SproutCore, Charles Jolley, has decided to walk away from Apple and venture with his new startup company called Strobe. Charles, however, will still work in conjunction with Apple in order to further development of SproutCore as joint efforts from both parties. For those who are not familiar with the technology, SproutCore is an open standard, Cocoa-influenced JavaScript framework that makes web-apps seem much more like native ones.
Apple Studying Ability To Item Research Through iOS
Discovered on the Net recently is a patent that has been submitted by Apple that shows the Cupertino company is interested in providing instant research on any given item to be conducted on an iOS device. The function of the software would be initiated through means of a scan, such as a bar code, or just buy standing or placing your device near the interactive item to receive a wide variety of information, thanks to NFC (Near Field Communication).

Flashlight Apps That Utilize iPhone 4 LED Gets Approved by App Store.
During the debut of the iPhone 4, we here at MacApper immediately predicted after we seen that the new iPhone would indeed come with built-in camera flash (and a very bright one at that) that a developer would inevitably write an application that uses the LED camera flash as a flashlight. Sure enough our prediction, along with AppleInsider and MacRumors, came to fruition. Recently, users of the iPhone 4 have been noticing that their upload speeds are dramatically slower than what the new iPhone is capable of. The situation seems to be appearing in AT&T’s most popular metropolitan areas, such as San Francisco and New York City. Many were led to believe that AT&T was intentionally throttling the network. However, our friends over at AppleInsider have gotten information from sources familiar on the matter that the owners of the largest bandwidth spectrum in the world are not deliberately limiting the potential of the uploading speeds of the network.
Mozilla releases Firefox 4 Beta for Mac, Linux and Windows

Mozilla has released the Firefox 4 beta browser yesterday for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. There are some features, however, that are missing in the Mac and Linux interpretation of the web browsing software. These temporary exclusion of the feature are due some details in the browser layout for the platforms that are not quite done yet. Functions like the the Firefox button to initiate commonly executed tasks are only on the Windows version of the software for the time being.

Apple Rolls Out MobileMe Calendar Beta
Back in May, Apple began running public testing for a new, revamped version of the mail aspects of the companys MobileMe web software. The new design of the web application brought the beauty of the iPads version of the iOS Mail app to the desktop/notebook computer. Sign-up to try out the new software was made available through the users MobileMe access in the old version of the web-based Mail app and simple as clicking the notice to opt-in to the beta program. Later on in June, prior to the release of the new iPhone, Apple made the new beta standard in the new installment of MobileMe. The folks in Cupertino also added a new app-switching function that works much like the app switcher in iOS and Mac OS as well as a new Find my iPhone/iPad/iPod interface.
