5 Years of Twitter Stats
In light of it’s fifth year anniversary, Twitter has posted some pretty interesting statistics. Here’s what they said:

- 3 years, 2 months and 1 day. The time it took from the first Tweet to the billionth Tweet.
- 1 week. The time it now takes for users to send a billion Tweets.
- 50 million. The average number of Tweets people sent per day, one year ago.
- 140 million. The average number of Tweets people sent per day, in the last month.
- 177 million. Tweets sent on March 11, 2011.
ColorSnapper: A Hand Color Picker for the Mac
Many HTML and CSS editors have built in color pickers to make it easier to identify and convert colors on the screen to the required hexadecimal format, but these features are restricted to just that application. Well here’s where ColorSnapper comes in! ColorSnapper is an app that sits in your menu bar and is activated by a hotkey. You then get a little popup loupe to select a color on the screen and then have the app copy that color to the clipboard in a format of your coosing.

Web-Apps Saved To Home Screen Anchor Safari Performance
It seems as though that if you save web application on the Home Screen of your iOS device, the speed attribute of the site seems to be hampered compared to if you navigate to the web-app directly in the Safari web browser, according to The Register. It’s not yet determine whether the issue is just a bug in the iOS software or a deliberate move made by Cupertino to channel people to the App Store, which would seem unlikely.
Software Fix To Address Flickering Apple TV
There has been some complaint of flickering displays on certain television sets when using the Apple TV. Our friends over at AppleInsider has been informed that Cupertino is planning to release a software fix to remedy the issue.
“An Apple support representative has confirmed that Apple is aware of the issues caused by the latest update to the Apple TV, software version 4.2, AppleInsider has learned. The Cupertino, Calif., company is said to be working on a fix that will address the screen flickering problems for a small number of users.”
Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.6.7 to Developers
Cupertino has seeded Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers for testing. This update clocked in just six days after the previous build.
Just as the other build, Apple continues to report that the build has no issue and developers focus on graphics, Safari, App Store, AirPort, Bonjour, and SMB.
Completion of the desktop software seems like its wrapping up as the last few seeds are relative the same size and the spread between the beta releases are practically the same for each release. This will be recorded as the eighth installment of 10.6.7 since the beta started to be released back in late January.
Walkthrough Of Mac OS X Lion Emerges
Many people already knew that as soon as Apple released the first developer seed of Mac OS X Lion to developers, a video walkthrough (as has been provided in the pass with previous seeding of Mac OS software) of the software would emerge. Although the news of Apple’s new MacBook Pros with the new Thunderbolt port and the iPad 2 announcement quickly overshadowed the announcement of the Mac OS Lion testing, it hasn’t been forgotten.
Filemaker Updates Bento
One of Apple’s popular subsidiaries Filemaker this week updated Bento to Bento 4. Bento 4 is a significant update to the database software for Mac OS X. New features of the updated software include the ability to create labels, the option to export templates with data included for pre-populated templates, new selections for printing forms, local data integration plus a bundle of other features.
Filemaker has also released Bento updates for iPhone and iPad as well. Tagged at $4.99 a piece, the update brings enhancements and new features such as voice memos and multitasking. The software is also available in several languages including Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, and French.
MobileMe Revamp Is Coming in April?
Word has gotten out to iLounge that Cupertino is planning to unveil the remodel version of MobileMe this April. On top of that, it has been mentioned that the new revamped service will be cloud-based and allow users to store all of the content on their Apple mobile devices for back up such as music, movies, photo, contacts, and a number of other things mentioned that can be accessed on demand by the user.
Djay Comes to iPod and iPhone.
One of the more popular application from the iPad associated with music makes it’s way to the iPod and iPhone. Algoriddim’s Djay application has debuted on the iPod and iPhone with surprisingly many of the same features that users of the application might recognize from it iPad form. While more DJs and other music professionals would more than likely utilize the iPad version of this application, it still seems to put on a show into displaying how powerful the iPhone and iOS software is.
