Apple Recruiting Gaming PRs
Seems like Apple is planning to push the gaming initiative that has been presented towards e iPod, iPad, and iPhone. Cupertino has recently hired two people who have deep portfolios in the gaming industry. One of their hires, Rob Saunders, played a key role in the promotion of the Nintendo Wii and DS gaming systems. Nick Grange haws a portfolio that includes work done with several of the gaming industry’s major players including Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and Activision. Saunders will be involved with PR work for iOS applications while Nick will be involved with iPad hardware.
Apple has poached not one but two of the games industry’s best PR execs – with Activision’s Nick Grange set to join Nintendo’s Rob Saunders at the manufacturer.
Apple and gaming is nothing new if you are an iOS user. In fact, Cupertino has even marketed the iPod touch as a portable gaming device. The iPod touch has given alarming competition to products that have held ample weight in the gaming arena, such as the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS. Both Sony and Nintendo have gone as far as to call Apple the “enemy of the future” and are currently taking measures to hold their ground against Cupertino in the gaming sector.
