Swift Publisher Giveaway Winners

Swift PublisherFirst of all sorry this giveaway took so long to get the winners announced but better late than never. Earlier this month a giveaway was held for Swift Publisher, which is a really useful and beginner friendly desktop publishing app for the Mac that is much more than just a word processor.

Belight Software, the creators of Swift Publisher kindly gave us 3 licenses to give away to 3 lucky readers. Thank you everyone who provided feedback as your suggestions will help Swift Publisher become a better product in future releases.

The three lucky winners are…

Fluid: Bring Web Apps to your Desktop

IconIf you’re the type of person who works with certain web apps constantly, Fluid is just for you. Fluid allows you to create an application for any web app, raising your level of productivity, lowering you RAM usage, and much more! Fluid is a great way to create a web app on your desktop without writing a line of code. While you may think running a web app as an application might use more RAM, I found the opposite to be true. Since I find myself hanging around Facebook quite a bit, I created an app for it. With Facebook open in Safari with one tab open and no plugins used, I was using 63.07 MB of real memory. With the Fluid create app, only 35.12 MBs of real memory was utilized.

Runic: Arcade Classic with a NewSkool Twist

RunicPong is a classic arcade game which we’ve all loved an enjoyed. World of Warcraft is an amazing MMORPG with weird goblins, ghouls and crazy creatures. Together the two might make up something called Runic. This game incorporates old-school game play (think Breakout or Arkanoid) with new graphics and wild magic spells and bosses.

I’ve never been much of a gamer, but Runic is a game that really anyone of any age can easily pick up. The game is very simple, with only a mouse and the space bar needed to play. If you remember Arkanoid, the game plays very similar to that. As simple as it is, the concept is not oringal, but it makes up for that with many added enhancements to the gameplay. Here is a look at the game in action, below.

Macintosh GUI: A Customization Goodie of the Day

MacintoshGUIAs much as we all enjoy the user interface of Mac OS X, sometimes we need a change. The Mac community has been responsive to this need of many people. As a result we’ve see many app like CandyBar and Shapeshifter. But where do we go to find these wonderful enhancements to our favorite Graphic User Interface?

MacintoshGUI is a site that showcases one Mac goodie everyday, either an icon, desktop, theme or any other GUI enhancers you would like to submit which you can use to customize your Mac. With ratings, user submissions, and a linear archive system, it’s really easy to share your favourite Mac-design related GUI goodies.
