The difference between a new computer user and a power user is all in the keyboard. With the many menu commands in Mac OS X, if you really want to save time on your computer, you have to use keyboard shortcuts. Though it can be hard to memorize all the keyboard shortcuts in all your applications at once. Keycue, from Ergonis Software, presents a viable solution to this problem by allowing you to learn new shortcuts as you work.

Last week I reviewed Master Kick, a foosball game. The developer, Industry Entertainment, gave us four licenses to giveaway to our readers. We had six entries, and now we have four winners. So if you entered, you had a pretty good chance of winning.
The winners of the Mac license are Colby G, Alex J. and Dan. And the winner of the full license is Keith Sheehan.

Some people have a hard time keeping track of where all their money goes. Cents, from MacMage, is a very simple application that helps you do just that! You can add different purchases to Cents and it will tell you how much you have spent. Cents is a very simple app, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t useful.

My wife and I had been pretty happy with the copy of Quicken that came with our computers. All that changed a few weeks ago, when she told me that Quicken was no longer sufficient for our needs. As she is a professional accountant and I am just a writer, I didn’t question her. So started the search for a new finance program/service.

There are currently many RSS applications out for Mac, but none of them are quite like Times. Times reinvents the user interface of an RSS reader by making it look similar to a newspaper. With a simple interface, Times makes it easy for anyone to read and view RSS feeds. It also has many special effects to make it look even better.

Last week I reviewed WhoIs Analyzer Pro, a fast, easy domain lookup application. The developers offered two licenses to commenters who listed a domain they looked up, how the experience was, and anything surprising that they learned while looking up the domain/IP/email/ASN.
The winners have been chosen, and licenses will be sent shortly. The winners are:
1. Abubaker Shamlan
2. sinbad
Congratulations, and enjoy WhoIs Analyzer Pro!

It seems like every medium has tried to recreate the world’s most popular sport. There’s the interactive table version of soccer, called foosball. And then there are tons of soccer video and computer games that try to realistically imitate the sport. However, few computer games have attempted to emulate the look and feel of table soccer, but that’s exactly what’s been done with Master Kick. And there’s one really good reason why it might be a better alternative: a decent foosball table can cost more than $100, but you can get Master Kick free if you win MacApper’s giveaway.

The giveaway of YummySoup! licenses has come to a close. You may recall that I shared some of my favorite YummySoup! features, and Hungry Seacow Software was gracious enough to giveaway three licenses to those who shared an improvement suggestion. It turns out that your comments and suggestions blew the developer’s mind. Ken from Hungry Seacow was so excited to have his mind blown that he sweetened the deal. Jump with me to the goodies.
First, HSS decided to throw in two more licenses for the giveaway! This means that we have 5 winners instead of 3. Let me congratulate the following randomly selected winners:

Recently I found myself needing to transfer a 3GB file to another computer with a 512MB Flash Drive. There are a fair amount of ways to do that, but I knew one that was much simpler and more Mac-like than the others: BetterZip.

A while back I reviewed iStopMotion2 by Boinx Software and displayed my stop motion skills for the web to see. You, in turn, responded with your own creative creations using the incredibly intuitive iStopMotion2 demo. Everyone did an excellent job! Three winners have been randomly selected and here they are in no particular order:
Mark Rowland
Sabrina
derphilipp
Thanks to everyone who participated. I encourage you to pick up even just the demo version and see what you can come up with. Kids eat this stuff up, so spend some time with them this weekend and put together a Lego reenactment of Gettysburg or your own rendition of this piece of British Cinema.

Have you tried to figure out whom to contact about the spam you keep receiving? WhoIs Analyzer Pro improves on its command-line cousin, making domain lookups easy, fast, and more useful than before.
