I am on a work PC waiting for my load to be ready. I'd forgotten how much I really don't like Windows until this morning. On top of that, I haven't used a PC in so long it feels very awkward and clumsy. I sure wish they had WIFI here so I could just use my Mac.

Yep I know thefeeling. Log onto my Mac in te morning while I have breakfast then go to work and log onto a Windoze pc for the day. It feels so good to get home to my Mac at the end of the day.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes, JTMG. Hope you can enjoy your Mac by the end of the day. :)
TBH I don't really know why people always complain about Windows. It's not that's a bad OS, it's actually a very good one. It's just that OS X is better.
Oh well, to each his own, I suppose.

Things are so much better now that my hands are on my MacBook.

I use an Dell laptop at work all day , To be honest it's not that bad . Just slow. Having said that I'd swop it for my iMac in the blink of an eye.
I find myself trying to do Mac actions while using my PC. I'll even go so far as to say using a Mac has made me a better PC user .
A little example of this is. Before I got a Mac I never used keyboard shortcuts on a PC now I do all the time... Just my HO

My husband's old dell is sitting on the dresser in the guest room. Disconnected.
And I'm with Kilted, Mac has made me a much more knowledgeable user in general! I knew nothing before I started to research Macs. Even before I was able to afford one I was learning how to do stuff with my Thinkpad that I'd had no idea I could, all because of the Mac approach.

What made you go with Mac anyway, iK?

I'd had the Thinkpad for five or six years and it had little glitches that bugged me (pun intended). And it was slow, slow, slow. I was considering a Panasonic Toughbook W4 when a friend suggested I take a look at Apple. When I saw how much I got in a MacBook for the price (the Toughbook was MBP-like in price but MB-like specs!) it didn't take long for me to adjust my desire.
I also wanted to be able to do more with recording and musical notation. I haven't gotten to the latter yet, but I do have Finale's Print Music on the shelf patiently waiting for me to conquer inertia.

So basically everyone saying that Macs are more expensive, you have a different point of view. I know that Macs are very competitive nowadays price-wise. There used to be an enormous diff before.

Yeah, my experience is different. The Toughbook is just that though. It's made to withstand some abuse. The "usual" comparisons are with the stripped down dells or hps (it seems)!
The funny thing was when I made my first visit to the Apple store. I had printed out the specs for the Toughbook and one of the Mac reps asked if he could look at it. He proceded to point out how much more I would get in several areas (don't remember them all now). I was surprised and initially a little disappointed (I'd gotten my heart set on the Panasonic over a three month span). My frugal side won the battle swiftly and I'm happy!
