View Full Version : Find/Replace Tool
I often find myself needing to do a find/replace operation on a string of text within several files, usually lots of them. I realize I could grep this but would really like to do this outside the terminal. I noticed neither Textmate and Skedit do this. Anyone?

I believe BBEdit has it, but other than that I'm not sure

Yep bbedit does have it. Also a $125 price tag, ouch. I can't figure out why this app is so spendy. It's clearly the best editor for OS X, but not many people are willing to shell out so much for text processing.
Thanks guys. $125 is too rich for my blood. I guess I'm stuck with the command line :(

Actually, BBEdit has a free little brother, TextWrangler. It has a lot of the same features as BBEdit, including find-and-replace. You can get it here (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/).
