My battery life just went to hell in the past 2 days..

I have the black macbook and normally at 100% I have 4+ hours. Today when I opened it, I dropped from 100% to 89% and it said 1:47 left.

I've been on it for maybe an hour now and I'm down to 42% and 0:52.

I have it set on "Normal battery life" and I only have Itunes, Firefox, and Ichat open.


Anyone ever encounter a problem like this?

Sounds like an issue with the chip in the battery. Try resetting the PMU, and if not, and you are still under AppleCare, give Apple a call. You probably need a new battery.
