Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac is presently at its “final candidate” development milestone and is being privately tested. The final release of Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac is expected within the next several weeks.

Will be super interesting to see how 3D games like Half Life 2 etc play in this version. They don't work well in Crossover despite what their site says ;)

I was just getting ready to purchase the current version as the first thing to install on my yet to be delivered MBP. The official blog http://parallelsvirtualization.blogspot.com/ gives some upgrade info. Looks like i will be waiting a few weeks to purchase.

Anyone actually use Sol10x86 in parallels or will I be pioneering new ground there?

Solaris in Parallels? That is new territory for me...

Looks like your not completely alone (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enTH216TH216&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=solaris+parallels&spell=1) though ;)

Need it for work. I have corporate approval to use Parallels to consolidate all my workstations on to the MBP. Solaris, XP, Vista (soon), Linux x3 (debian/ubuntu, redhat, novell) will all be running, just not at the same time. I sold it as "saves you money, gets me the system I want."

I am looking at starting a "more technical" site about my transition BACK to Mac. things that have been tough are technical assessment of hardware, real capability of tools (boot camp is strictly 2 boo, not multi-boot), and find others who "do what I do" who have done this before.

Not being a real artsy type (more music than graphics/design) I am a bit reluctant to just toss a site up. Any suggestions?

i have a vista and XP machine running. I am having issues with the snapshot feature, but other than that it is working fine. I will be loading a game or two later to see how that works. Debian (pretty much the same as ubuntu) will be tomorrow. Sol x86 will wait for work on Monday.

Looks like your question thing at the end of the post worked. Also not having to sign in is nice too. Good job. Nice list. Thanks.
