I am typeing this on my 1 day old MBP that is still plugged into a cat5 cable. I have searched the net and can not figure out how to get this thing to talk to a Linux based WAP. I have the WAP working perfectly for XP, Linux, BSD, Solaris, but OSX just can't seem to make it.

From the OSX side I get continual "Incorrect password" errors, but on the WAO I see that the password is accepted and that the remote (the MBP) requests disaccosiation. It is that last part that bothers me.

I think I must be doing something in a "non-mac" way, but not sure what it might be at this point in time.

Thanks.

Well I answered my own question with a little more playing around.

In hostapd on the linux WAP, make sure WPA2 is disabled. YOu can use WPA v1 to maintain security. To do this set wpa=1. You can then use the stock methods for everything else.

If anyone needs more info let me know.
