View Full Version : Internet Connection
I recently moved, and am now using a new DSL provider. Ever since I moved, the internet connection has seemed sub-par. The problem is that the connection seems to quit too easily. For example, all the images on a page don't load. Like for Facebook albums, I always have to reload. Also, sometimes when I send a Gmail message, it just stays on "Sending." I am using a DSL modem/wireless router, and the problem persist on wired and wireless connections.
Does anyone have any ideas on this problem?
It very well could be your new DSL provider. What ISP are you using?

So you have at least rulled out the Mac and wireless as the issue. As Kiro noted the issue is more than like "on teh other side" of the modem.
A couple of standard things to check for DSL:
Make sure all non-modems are filtered.
Make sre the line from the modem wall outlet to the demarc is not spliced
Only use the line supplied with the DSL modem to connect the modem to the wall jack.
Have the DSL provider run local AND loop diagnostics from the modem to the POP.
90% of the time one of those will solve or at least expose the cause of these types of issues.
Really weird - I haven't done anything, and it seems to run perfectly now. Must have been an AT&T problem.
