Yes...I finally did it...I broke down and bought a Microsoft Zune...and loving it...the down side is the lack of native Mac support...the upside...Parallels Desktop! Works beautifully! I know it didn't really turn out to be the "iPod killer" that MS promised...but after reviewing the features and functions I chose it over the new iPod classic...Let's see, 30GB Zune for $99 or 80GB iPod for $250...yeah, I went with the cheaper route.

On thing that I think is great that I wish Apple would do with their products is the firmware upgrades that Microsoft is offering...once the new versions of the Zune come out, my old Zune 30 will be able to update and have all the new software features such as wireless sync and proper MP4 & h.264 support.

Ok, just my little "blather" here, just want to let people know that I crossed over to the dark side and it doesn't feel as bad as I thought it would...

Haha, interesting choice. I'm happy as a clam with my iPhone. I never liked iPods all that much... You should write a post about choosing the Zune and getting it to work with your Mac.

A very well thought-out choice. Unfortunately, that would be social suicide for me.

Apple used to be really good about updating the firmware of the older models. They don't really do it much anymore, it does kind of stink. If you look at the current updates though, allot of them have to do with hardware changes, that might be why we don't see as many firmware updates as we'd like. They release more hardware than software.
