I signed up for the Super Suite deal back in December, after getting Office 2004 as a Christmas present. So when Office 2008 came out I went through the messed up Microsoft process. First, going through things online. And then they required me to mail in a proof of purchase from the box, and proof of purchase (like receipt)
Unfortunately, the product was ordered from Amazon. So not an official receipt, I guess. But I sent it in, explaining that it was a gift, and I printed a screenshot of the amazon page confirming the order.
2 weeks, no reply. I assume they received it, thought it not enough proof, and through it in the trash. Microsoft made it as hard as possible to get this "super suite deal" and now they're going to get hell from me. I hardly even wanted Office 2004 in the first place, 2008 was what I wanted. There's $100 down the drain. Besides, the universal version of Office should be a basic, even free, update, not a $200 upgrade.
I am not happy. Just goes to show what happens when you mix the two world. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
