I really like Photonic, and I'm definitely considering a purchase. I think there are some similar apps in development. The problems I've run across with Photonic are that I cannot create & upload photos as a set within the program. I posted on Barton Springs support site about this. One of the developers stated that "this is so far the single most common feature request by a wide margin, and we’re looking into providing this ability in a future release." The other issue was that I only got a small, incomplete, subset of mostly recent photos when I searched for specific tags. It still makes working with Flickr more enjoyable.

Recent Mac convert... I was given one!
My son, sick of me raving about Windows flakiness and that 'Life's too short for Linux', surprised me 2 days later with a Mac mini!
It sits under my nose hardly audible and does nearly all I want. Except print. Canon LBP5000 has flaky drivers, just like under Linux... My Windows box is now only there for FPSs. And Picasa.

When I had a Flickr account, I used 1001 (http://infinite-sushi.com/software/1001/).

Every time I used it, it worked quite well but it was pretty bare bones. Now I've seen they have added some new features but I don't use Flickr anymore so can't try it to see if it does what you want it to do.
