Referrals, what is it for?

I just noticed I have a Referrals item with a number in my member profile. What does this Referrals item mean?

Maybe you get a prize for referring cool people to the site! I put you as my referrer, so I hope you get a nice prize! :tongue:

DOH! What a dummy I am! When I woke up this morning it suddenly occurred to me what it might be. And after reading iKitten's post, I now remember the referral thingy in the registration process... :blush:

The referral field is just a standard vBulletin. Unfortunately, we don't have any prizes for referrals. Maybe I can come up with something though...like a custom status?

How do you know what number you have in regards to rep? Is that listed somewhere or is it just availabale to mods and admins?
