Ok so let's start a thread on web design. It can be websites we think look terrific or terrible, it could be links to knowledge that make websites look better, How Tos/tutorials, etc.

I thought I'd start it off with typography. But typography for the web. I came across this over a year ago, it's a work in progress and is supposed to make it into book form once it's completed.

The Elements of Typographical Style Applied to the Web - A practical guide to web typography (http://webtypography.net/). The navigation is done by going to the Table of Contents, links to the various sections are there.

I put a number of small lessons I learnt from making my new website here (http://www.arpia.be/2008/05/lessons-of-web-design/).
Most of that is very basic, but it means I'm very satisfied with the usability and appearance of my website.
It also includes a small number of links.

(to illustrate, check the "old Arpia website" to see how things have evolved thanks to those few lessons)

Most website that I think are terrible in design are ones that, ironically, are for schools. The UI in most are terrible.

Apples seems to bug me too. Its not bad though. It at least has a bit of class rather than just the "Im selling something" look.

And anything with a flash intro is terrible. Lol

I liked Eggos work from MF. It was creative. Although I dont think very practical.
