Just so you all know...
The original Photo of the Month thread was inadvertently deleted by one of the mods so we have to start over again.
And iKitten, even after seeing that one for the second time, I still love it.

Great photos folks!!!!!!
Here's my May entry. It's the Boon Island Light 6 miles off the coast of York, Maine. I took this on May 9, 2008 with my PowerShot G9 on full zoom (24x) in my hands (versus on a tripod), so it isn't perhaps as good as it might have been. Also, the weather wasn't what you'd call great. As you can see, there was little contrast on the horizon. Nevertheless, it was interesting. The current lighthouse has been there for over 150 years. In the times I've visited York, I'd never noticed this one until this visit. Enjoy!

Whoah! That is cool! The water is almost the same colour as the sky!
And imagine how strongly built that lighthouse is! Still standing up after 150 years. I'm sure it's seen its share of banshee winds and 30 foot high waves. Wow! :O

Thats old for Australia. 1850s. Not too long before that it was nothing but indigenous Australians (Aborigines) Not a lot of history here when you look at somewhere like Europe however Australia is one of the oldest continents on planet Earth.

We're not as old as Europe here, of course, but Québec City (http://www.quebec400.gc.ca/apercu-overview-eng.cfm) is going to celebrate its 400th year this summer.

This isn't a GOOD picture, but I was shocked that I actually got lightning in a picture like that. It's so fast, what ARE the odds?!
I learned that Lightning is hard to photograph!
This was cleaned up with NeatImage, I think. It said it couldn't do it, but it looks way better than the original so I guess it did. I'm not so sure how to sure how to use that program.
This is in my yard, ignore the water droplets on my lens.
Oh, taken with my S5.
Still debating on whether or not I should send it back for a replacement...
Here ya go!

this (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.succulent-plant.com/other/squirrel.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.succulent-plant.com/animals.html&h=330&w=500&sz=38&hl=en&start=32&um=1&tbnid=VrZ9wEJ1zBSkFM:&tbnh=86&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddesert%2Bsquirrel%26start%3D20%26ndsp %3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3 Den%26sa%3DN):
A round tailed squirrel emerges from its burrow under a clump of cactus in the Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix, Arizona. Don't mess with these animals ! They are fiercer than they look. Soon after posing for its photograph, this squirrel was observed harrassing a much larger snake which eventually gave up and slithered away.

Well looks like I won't have an opportunity to take pics much. Besides what the heck, we're not strict, you can post as many photos as you want. We're cool.
We don't have any rules apart perhaps the image size. Not cool to post an image of 3000 x 2000 pixels in a post. Isn't very respectful of other members that have to scroll and scroll.
Not saying that you'd do that, iK. This is just forum's in general.

MacHeadCase

You could try those freebie sites like Photobucket or ImageShack. Even Skitch has a webhosting feature now in the latest version and it resizes the image for you without messing up the original.

i don't have a DSLR just yet... I have two older 35mm SLRS. with four lenses. but i didn't know much about digital photography. so i bought a FujiFilm FinePix S8000fd camera. I took these with manual operations. because i don't use auto focus for my artistic shots. but i do love photography, and am now saving up for a DSLR for todays modern age. cant wait.

MHC - its a Blue Wren. They are small and busy. There just never seems a moment when there isn't movement. We have a family of them that visits our backyard. Usually the one blue male and about 8 -12 brown females/children. I have been sitting in wait for a while now and its like he knows I have the paparazzi camera waiting. Hard to get is how he plays the game.
