This is my camera: http://www.dvspot.com/reviews/sony/dvd403-review/index.shtml
I will be doing some shooting tomorrow in a busy and loud PC exposition hall. The mic for this particular camera is very sensitive.
First of all I hate Sony's proprietary inputs. I was having troubles with the mic on my camera so I bought the sony zoom mic: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ECM-HGZ1-Microphone-DCR-DVD305-Camcorders/dp/B0007NP8Q6
Notice the crap customer reviews.
what would be ideal was if I could get a mic for my subject to wear. Does anyone out there know if I can plug an external mic to one of these Sony's via an adapter for the proprietary Sony shoe connection? I have searched and found nothing other than articles discussing how lame the mic is on this otherwise awesome camera.
