Hey, I'm a newbie to this forum--Sandra from Georgia (US), and presently own a MacBook (early 2008, refurb). I am thinking about buying an iPod touch 3g (32GB) for mostly email, texting and hopefully skyping for an upcoming trip. Yes, I know the 4g is out and my niece had one but I am big on "recycling" and using previous generation tech (cheaper accessories, fewer bugs, et al.).

And I know about the iPhone but don't want the contract (or the monthly (and lifetime) phone plan cost). I have an old Samsung Palm smartphone (SPH i330) that I am pretty happy with; however, I am hoping the Touch will take over some of the PDA functions of my phone.

Comments? Suggestions? What do you like best about the Touch? Does it sync well with your Mac? Do you use Mobile Me to keep everything synced? Please let me know especially if you skype with your Touch and how well that works. (or other texting or "phone" apps).

Thanks, S
